We would like to officially welcome John Barnhart to our teaching staff!
John is currently accepting registrations for private and group lessons. He will soon be introducing are mini musicians and movement program for our very young artists. We are honored and excited to have him on staff.
John Barnhart is a baritone working as a teacher, performer, and music director. His training has focused on early childhood music, choral music, musical theatre, and voice across a variety of genres, especially on development of young singers.
In summer 2025, Barnhart was one of twenty-five singers selected to participate in the Fondazione Mascarade Opera Florence Choral Course, focused on the Italian Renaissance choral tradition. His music directing credits with the Penn State Thespian Society include Sweeney Todd (2023), Something Rotten! (2024), and Alice By Heart (2024). He served as President of the Penn State Glee Club and has toured internationally with the ensemble, as well as with the Penn State Concert Choir. He received the Performance Jury Honors designation in Voice at Penn State in both Fall 2022 and Fall 2023.
An alum of Brenda’s Notes and Ambridge Area High School, John has maintained an active presence as both a performer and coach, contributing to recitals and the studio’s Broadway Showstoppers cabaret. John earned a Bachelor of Music Education from The Pennsylvania State University in 2025.
