Wha???? One month left to apply to Southwest Regionals "Burlypicks" !!! This is our 3rd year hosting Southwest! We have special guest judge Tiffany Carter coming in this year and a Queens Tea hangout open to all competitors with her the next day July 26th at Lune Gallery ! We have had a record number of applicants this year ( more than the last two combined!!) and are so excited! There is still a month to send in your art to be considered for the 25 that will compete! We had the National winner Bella Fire-Ray and our Regional Champ Lucy Bohème is a National Title winner at WEIRDLESQUE with her act from Burlypicks! RR Bar Amarillo is so ecstatic to have this regional festival for the 3rd year to provide the gateway in this region to a national title! Produced by Pistol Holliday ( a national champion as well with GLCC - Golden Legend Champion Challenge 2023) , and he is excited to pass the torch next year to another city for Southwest Regionals ( and Pistol is ready to compete again!! ) Announcements will be made at the competition! So... get your opportunity to get in on the magic! Its been awesome seeing the list of competitors from Southeast Regionals Burlypicks , Great Basin Regional "Burlypicks" , and Great Lakes Regionals "Burlypicks" ! Super stoked to have Kelsey Peeples / Kelseys Photography. as our official photographer for Southwest Regionals "Burlypicks" in 2026! Again this is a record year as far as applicants go and largely we think people are excited about our guest judge coming in ALL THE WAY from Las Vegas, BURLESQUE LEGEND Tiffany Carter ! Applications are still open for about another month and a half and boy are we ecstatic at the level of talent thats applied thus far! Its a REAL competition at RR Bar Amarillo where we have pride in bringing you THE BEST burlesque that can be offered to you , not just locally but from around the world in our little dive bar! They keep coming back too! This competition is adjudicated by national qualified judges who select 25 artists to compete at each regional! With outstanding producers at each who are burlesque stars in their own right, each regional producer stays out of the selection process to insure a fair, talent based competition! Each regional then proceeds to send 5 artists ( winners of each category) to go to Nationals! With 5 regionals that means 25 competitors at Nationals in Denver! We now have more applicants than the last two years combined for Southwest Regionals "Burlypicks" ! I am beyond ecstatic to see the level of talent who put it all out there to be selected as the top 25 in our regional to compete! There is definitely still time to apply ! Will you join Guest Judge Tiffany Carter , producer and mentor Pistol Holliday in Amarillo TX for the only contest in drag/burlesque/variety arts in the Panhandle that directly takes you to compete in NATIONALS? Will you have one of the medals, Crowns , or cash prizes? Competing against the best us ALWAYS better than getting in by default! And we definitely have some of the best coming out!

Oh yes! My weekly share to remind you we have applications still open for Southwest Regionals "Burlypicks" ! YES , we have had a RECORD number applying this year so far... but we definitely welcome more to get an awesome competition to send the top notch to Nationals! Back in the first year of our regional , we had 17 artists that all got into our regional. We started small and sent some great talent! We grew last year , and our overall winner for Southwest ( Lucy Bohème ) went on to win Best Weirdlesque Queen title, and our winner of her categories here ( Neo Classic and Classic) went on to win the National Title ( Bella Fire-Ray )! We think we have such an incredibly talented bunch filled with National winners again! This year we are bringing in BURLESQUE LEGEND Tiffany Carter as a judge and following the contest the next day ( July 26th ) we will have a QUEENS TEA/Q and A with Tiffany at Lune Gallery, ( in a gallery fit for a QUEEN and actual LEGEND) You dont want to miss this fantastic opportunity! APPLICATIONS ARE STILL LIVE!! We have had a RECORD number of applicants this year for Southwest Regionals "Burlypicks" ! This is going to be a stellar but tough competition! Ive been asked in DMs by people not really knowing what category they fit in! Here below is a guide to help but also... when you submit our national adjudicators do place you in the correct categories! Also... with this record number.... many feel apprehensive about their chances being selected as the 25 that make it into the regional. I had an artist Who Im currently mentoring give me the best answer...he doesnt want it easy, he wants to get in with the best because he deserves it! Ill tell you this, HE IS DOING THE WORK ! So proud of that mentality! This is a first year artist Who is applying! So... apply , get those numbers and vids in! FOR ANY OF OUR REGIONALS Southeast Regionals Burlypicks , Great Lakes Regionals "Burlypicks" , Great Basin Regional "Burlypicks" , and the NEW Northwest Regionals "Burlypicks" .... you are in charge of your destiny and leveling up! Apply as each of the 5 regional are that chance to prove you work on your artform! Nobody CAN do it but YOU! NOBODY is exactly like YOU either! Every regional has extremely qualified producers involved in the elevation of the variety arts we love! FROM Burlesque, Drag, Magic, Vocalists, all variety arts , each one if these regionals is your gateway to Nationals for Burlypicks ! We had a RECORD number of applicants in our early bird for Southwest Regionals "Burlypicks" ! In fact our early bird this year beat the entire total for the entire first year in 2024! The early application window is over but regular applications are here! Who will come to the Lone Star State for the Southwest Regional Burlypicks Competition? The competition is STIFF already to I remind even getting in is a testament to your work! You want to compete with top tier to elevate to win a medal and get to nationals! Send in this vids! Polish your work! Reminder to competitors who have before competed...YES you CAN submit a number you've competed with! Its always good to keep elevating! Only the NATIONAL CHAMPION cant send in the same number... so if you've taken that number to another level of artistry... then compete! We always welcome new competitors as well! Wow! We have the most EARLY Submissions of ALL TIME for Southwest Regionals "Burlypicks" ! I am beyond ecstatic with the rock stars that have already applied! I think largely due to having a burlesque legend Tiffany Carter as our first guest judge! Its always been an honor having highly qualified judges in the past to give artists the experience of elevating their artform! Our judges have included Neon B. Carter , Miz Charlamay , Miss Brawling Beauty , Raphael De La Getto , and the glorious Egypt BlaqueKnyle in our little dive bar RR Bar Amarillo here in the panhandle! This is last day to get those early bird specials! Buuut don't fret as applications are a couple more months! We had the winner of Nationals Bella Fire-Ray and the current Queen of Weirdlesque Lucy Bohème compete in our regionals last year! Will you be next?

This regional produced last year's National winner! And our first guest judge for Southwest Regionals Burlypicks is none other than Burlesque LEGEND and dear friend Tiffany Carter ! We are the final regional before Nationals in Denver!!

Tiffany Carter is a living burlesque legend! Miss N**e Universe 1975, Tiffany Carter! Tiffany Carter began her burlesque career at the infamous Pink Pussycat in Hollywood, CA in the late 1960s, and toured the United States, Canada, and Japan throughout her career into the 1980s.

Throughout her 20+ years in burlesque, she has been a muse to MIT-trained engineer-turned-burlesque costumer Bobby Gersten and has performed alongside such legendary performers as Tempest Storm, Blaze Starr, Satan’s Angel, Kitten Natividad, Tura Satana, Delilah Jones, Shannon Doah, Akiko O’Toole, Machine Gun Kelly, Crystal Blue, Lovey Goldmine, and Teri Starr.

In recent years, she has been a teacher, mentor, and caretaker for burlesque newcomers and legends alike, both here in Las Vegas where she lives and at festivals across the country. Her deep connection with the burlesque community makes her an ideal addition to the BHoF board as well! We are beyond excited to bring Tiffany to Amarillo TX and the RR Bar Amarillo ! We are the only venue in the area that has hosted Burlesque legends!
