The Mother Road, Route 66, celebrates 100 years with celebrations just a few days away on the iconic sixth street in Amarillo. Celebrate by collecting one of my shields at Arts in the Sunset this weekend. Come by for First Friday June 5, 5 to 9 p.m. and look in the Owl Works Gift Shop. Online, too, at leona-intheclay.com

Guess what tomorrow is? Yes, May 1 . . . May Day, First Friday Art Walk (5-9 pm). Visit Owl Works Gift Shop at Arts in the Sunset. Come any time 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. I have 10 new pieces there. Plus, May 10 . . . Mother's Day.

Maybe Mom (or someone else) needs a flower vase, or a pencil/pen holder (use imagination), or just a little gnome to brighten their day . . . for no reason at all. Reasonably priced. Shop local. Shop often.
