The average cost for weddings in Iowa is $20,000!
The Venue is betwen 30-50% of that cost
Catering is usually around 30%
Photography, Videography, DJ, Baker, etc. can average up to 20% each.
There is still dress/tuxes, decorating, alcohol, gifts, and other expenses too!

Before signing contracts and making down payments it is a good idea to shop around to see what the average cost is for the type and style of venue and vendor you want.

How to find the right Wedding Reception Venue?

Decide as a couple what you want out of a venue:
✔️ Do you want to be married in a place of worship? Or in a venue that can also house your reception?
✔️ Do you want an inside/outside space, and if outside what are the venue's back-up plans for inclement weater?
✔️ What style or feel of venue do you want?
✔️ Do you want a venue that can be all or mostly inclusive for your vendors or do you want to find all of your vendors yourself?
✔️ Do you want alcohol, and what is the venue's policy for alcohol? Options to bring in from outside may seem less expensive, but incurs a lot more work!
✔️ Do you want to be able to get ready at the venue on the big day?
✔️ Do you want to be able to come into the venue for decorating and set up the day before?
