ABOUT THE SHOW
Al and Willie as “Lewis and Clark” were top-billed vaudevillians for over forty years. Now they aren’t even speaking. When CBS requests them for a “History of Comedy” retrospective, a grudging reunion brings the two back together, along with a flood of memories, miseries, and laughs. The story follows the attempt by a young theatrical agent to reunite his elderly uncle, a former vaudevillian great, with his long-time stage partner for a TV reunion. Despite their celebrated reputation, the two old men have not spoken in twelve years. Besides remastering their sketch, the two men have numerous issues to work out before they are ready to return to the public eye.

Join us on September 12th at The Amana Performing Arts Center for an evening of JAZZ with The Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra Sextet.

The IWJO Sextet is a 6-piece jazz combo from the larger Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra. It features Jennifer Tiede (alto sax), Lynne Hart (tenor sax), Toni LeFebvre (trumpet), Julia Andrews (piano), Jeanette Welch (bass), and Farren Johnson (drums).

The full Iowa Women's Jazz Orchestra (IWJO) is a professional big band made up of women musicians from across the state of Iowa, dedicated to showcasing excellence in jazz while encouraging the participation of women and girls in the art form. Founded in 2017 by trumpet player Toni LeFebvre while pursuing her master’s degree at the University of Iowa, IWJO grew out of research focused on women in jazz and the need for greater representation and visibility.

The IWJO Sextet has been spotlighted at numerous events across the state including performances at Orchestra Iowa and KCCK’s First Friday Jazz, the Iowa Fine Arts Education Summit, the Cedar Basin Music Festival, RAGBRAI, the Iowa City Jazz Festival, and many Iowa public libraries.

Many IWJO members are music educators spanning elementary through collegiate levels. Both the IWJO Sextet and big band regularly and enthusiastically collaborate with middle school, high school, and collegiate jazz students to inspire continued engagement with jazz throughout Iowa and beyond and to ensure all musicians—especially girls—feel forever empowered to share their voices through this music.

It was a beautiful, wonderful weekend for our production of Always... Patsy Cline by Ted Swindley. We can't wait to do it all over again next weekend.

Meet the cast of Always... Patsy Cline by Ted Swindley!

Deb Kennedy (Patsy Cline) “You must do the thing you think you cannot do.” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt. Life is a journey, and we must all have the courage to live our lives to the fullest, and with love – always.
Deb, a Florida native, has been working in the Midwest for the past 20+ years onstage, backstage, and occasionally onscreen. She is the “K” in T(eam) K(ennedy) M(illigan). Favorite stage credits include “Sister Amnesia” in NUNSENSE, “The Wicked Witch of the West”, in WIZARD OF OZ, “Annabella/Margaret/Pamela” in THE 39 STEPS, “Rita” in EDUCATING RITA, “Ms. Hannigan” in ANNIE, and "Rhetta" in PUMP BOYS & DINETTES, to name a few. During the day, Deb works for Fireside Winery as tasting room manager, is also part of the team of directors for , and in her spare time she sings with classic rock & blues band Fork In the Road . Deborah would like to thank her husband, Tom, for being her rock, and for always being by her side through the many storms of life.
