🛼SATURDAY SKATER SPOTLIGHT🛼

-Derby Name & Number:
Pipes #7

-Pronouns:
They/he/she

-Position:
Blocker/Jammer

-How long have you been skating?
7

-How did you choose your name and number?
I was told I was super loud and had a set of pipes so i ran with that.

-What’s your favorite derby memory?
Winning second place at Indianapolis regionals.

-Do you have a pre-bout ritual?
I don't wash my gear for at least three practices before (sorry) and grab these like blocks energy chews to have.

-What is your favorite thing about your team?
I love how inclusive the whole team is.

-What is your biggest derby pet peeve?
Stereotypes. The whole “derby is football on wheels” BS is especially annoying.

-If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
Glamazon - RuPaul

-If you had to survive a zombie apocalypse with one teammate, who are you picking and why?
Chongo. If he can skate as nimbly as he runs we’re good.

-Would you rather play with wet gear or a borrowed mouthguard?
Wet gear. I’ve done it plenty already.

-Would you rather be stuck at an after-party with no music or no food?
I’d rather not go. Music and food combo is what makes an after party (besides your teammates).

-If you could choose any animal as a pet, what would it be?
A tiger! They are so adorable and they are my favorite animal.

-Finally, what advice would you give to new skaters or anyone thinking about playing roller derby?
Start with jamming so you can learn how to block.
