Hello Friends, Followers, and Stalkers (they are out there), It has been quite some time since posting last to this page. I believe in the mission of this association, and I never had to imagine what it might look like, I saw it in League City every month. If you've lived here long enough, you understand that few people step up to a project like this without a profit motive. It has been a long standing stain here and there's no logo on earth can change that until change actually happens. And as I learned many years ago, nothing happens until something moves. As a Board Member of the City of Alvin's Music Advisory Board, I am appalled that the Texas Music Friendly City Logo is being used for profit, and not paying Artists. There are many such issues in and around the City and it was my hope that discussions and decisions would be made to improve our "music-friendliness" as part of those duties.

I am appealing to all those interested in supporting a comeback of this monthly program, to raise your hand, and let me know what you are willing and able to do. There are more than 300 followers of this page, if just 5% would volunteer, the program would be off and running. You can either comment below with interest, direct message, or text me at 281-798-7955. If we get enough interest, I'll set up a meeting within 30 days. If on the hand, there is not enough interest, I will shut this page down after 30 days from today. Thank you to all who've supported music in Alvin! Rudy

As many of you know, Tucker Hart is an amazing Artist, Songwriter, and co-owner of Chile Pequin , with his wife Rachel Hart. He and his wife founded League City Folk Association maybe two and a half years ago and it is no secret what has happened since. Lets come out tonight and enjoy the evening with one helluva Artist!

Exciting News! Payton Riley to Launch Inaugural Young Artist Songwriter Ranch Retreat

Payton Riley, honored as the TCMA Young Artist of the Year, is excited to announce the launch of its first-ever Young Artist Songwriter Ranch Retreat, designed for aspiring musicians aged 12-18. This retreat, in partnership with the Texas Country Music Association, will immerse young artists in the music industry through valuable insights and hands-on experiences.

Scheduled for October 11-13, 2024, the retreat will explore a variety of essential topics including brand development, viral social media strategies, legal considerations for songwriters, recording release timelines, the collaborative roles of major music tastemakers, and the creation of one-sheets and EPKs for securing bookings. Participants will also engage in a songwriting workshop led by renowned songwriter Scott Sean White, where they can co-write songs with peers and mentors, including Payton Riley, Ryder Grimes, Hadlie Jo, and more special guests to be announced.

On the final day of the retreat, young artists will have the opportunity to perform the two songs they wrote for their families. Additionally, three standout artists will be selected to perform at the Love Heals Youth Concert for Love event at The Table at Madeley on November 3rd. All participants will also be invited to join a song swap event on November 17th at DeepRoots Vineyards in Plantersville, TX, creating a wealth of opportunities for artistic growth.

“I’m incredibly excited about this retreat!” says Payton Riley. “I reflected on all the music-related topics I wish I had known when I began my journey. I made sure to include industry leaders who can offer invaluable insights. Songwriting is what sets us apart as artists, and I’m thrilled to have Scott Sean White leading the songwriting workshop. This is an incredible opportunity for these young talents.”

To keep the cost of attendance at $150 for each artist, we are actively seeking sponsors. This support will help cover meals for attendees and accommodations for our music industry speakers, ensuring that we can offer this enriching experience at minimal cost to attendees.
