The Alva Museum was extremely fortunate to have the opportunity host Cow Creek Chronicles author, Gregory Enns today, but as the museum’s post explains, they were fortunate on a number of levels. We thank all of the guests that brought so much more to the event.

Fourth graders at Pine Island Elementary (PIE) traded their standard social studies textbooks for a hands-on lesson in local heritage when a real Florida cowboy paid a visit to their campus on Sept. 18.

It’s a real treat to be able see these documents and pictures in real life! Thoroughly enjoyed the trip to the Historical Document Library at the Lee County Administration Building. Thank you, Joanne Iwinski Miller, for ensuring so much of this was saved from destruction!
