Two guitars, a banjo, and some boom boom thump!
It was a great night at Acoustic Altoona ! Thanks to ArtsAltoona. You've got the coolest, most versatile sandbox around! (They say it's even a farm, sometimes!) Alea Reid kicked it off with a bang. She's going to be booking out, soon, and you should go and see her! (Maybe at Mass N Tha Grass Music & Arts Festival | Altoona, PA )
Next up was Sascha Damon Frost, who took the baton and excelled. To see him perform live with just a guitar is a treat. (Sure beats a YouTube video!!) He doesn't do many shows like this, so it was extra special!
Rumble & Scream were finishing the evening, and did they ever! It reminds me of Luke the Drifter with some Steve Earle and The Band all mixed together, and baked in some old Appalachian coke oven. The playing is just spot on, and the songs make songwriters want to write better songs.
So a stellar night of music is great, but Michael Allison and all his amazing paintings are what makes AA an event. I'm glad we had one on stage, because each piece is telling it's own story. Thank you so much Michael!
