Thank you all who attended our Labor Day sale. It was a whirlwind for sure and a rainy one.

Thanks so much to Deb Leech, Christa Jordan, Tiffany Holland & Tatum & Aspen Tracy. You guys were very much appreciated & I can't thank you enough. It was hard to write in the rain & try to keep it all straight.

Thanks to Matt & Kristal Freese for returning the tables for me.

It took me a minute to straighten it all out but it was a success! Thanks again

✅ Correct Answer: C — Sodium, chloride and potassium!

These are the primary electrolytes lost through a horse’s sweat. Together, they help maintain proper hydration, fluid balance, nerve function and normal muscle contractions.

After strenuous exercise—especially in hot or humid weather—replacing these important electrolytes can be a key part of supporting healthy recovery.

ANSWER: B. Laminae ✅

The sensitive and insensitive laminae interlock and suspend/secure the coffin bone (distal phalanx) within the hoof capsule. This relationship is especially important because damage and inflammation of the laminae is what occurs with laminitis.

🏇🏼ANSWER & EXPLANATION 🏇🏼

The answer is A — Carry oxygen! 🩸

Red blood cells contain hemoglobin, a protein that binds oxygen in the lungs and helps transport it through the bloodstream to tissues throughout the horse’s body.

🐴 So why is oxygen so important?

Your horse’s cells need oxygen to efficiently produce the energy required for normal body functions and exercise. When a horse is training, racing, or performing strenuous work, the working muscles increase their demand for oxygen.

The cardiovascular and respiratory systems work together to get oxygen where it needs to go: the horse breathes oxygen into the lungs, hemoglobin in red blood cells helps carry that oxygen through the bloodstream, and it is delivered to tissues—including those hardworking muscles.

That makes healthy oxygen transport important for:

🐎 Normal muscle function
💨 Exercise and athletic performance
⚡ Energy production
❤️ Normal organ and tissue function
🌿 Recovery from exercise
