Hello friends and cryptids!
A big thanks to everyone who stopped by my table at Sci-Fi Valley Con, Part 10: June 17-19, 2022 Sci-Fi Valley Con Official Fan Forum and took part in The Starlight Carnival public game! The Maniacal Misfits had a pretty exciting weekend at the Carnival, and their competition was kept fierce thanks to the dedicated con-goers and questers that stopped by to lend a helping hand.
But! You're not here to listen to me ramble, you're here for the results of the weekend's game and the final rankings!
It was a fierce competition, but here are the final standings:
5th - Catapult Jack, The Pirate Captain [24 prizes]
4th - XGLFLIK, The Stargazer [29 prizes]
3rd - Avorenth, The Chromatic [30 prizes]
2nd - Crazy Dave, the Urban Cryptid [32 prizes]
1st - Chumbles, the Awakened Owlbear! [35 prizes]
The Chaotic Good-Boy is victorious! A powerful win from the only member of Maniacal Misfits who lacks both Thumbs and the ability to speak Common!
Second through fourth were quite close behind, with fan-favorite Crazy Dave nipping at our owlbear's heels! Avorenth and XGLFLIK managed quite well too, holding a steady place in the rankings! Catapult Jack brought up the rear, though to be fair he mostly came to the carnival to pick pockets and eat cheap corndogs, so who's to say he didn't win in his own way?
Radical Ivan's minions will have to go back to work soon, but for now they bask in the glory of another new story and set their sights ahead to where more tales wait beyond the horizon!
["The Starlight Carnival" was a short interactive game utilizing D&D 5e's skill check system. Visitors could pick a member of the Maniacal Misfits to pilot for a "turn", long enough to roll for a random carnival game and attempt the associated skill check. With a bit of dramatic narration from yours truly and the participation of so many enthusiastic guests, the Carnival was brought to life for the weekend and the Misfits competed in the most honored of traditions: Seeing who can win the most prizes at a super rigged carnival.]
