Meet our resident artist, CyRhen,

As a q***r Black artist growing up in a predominantly white community, art became a way to explore identity, process experience, and connect with history, ancestry, and self. After experimenting with many creative forms, they found their artistic voice through canvas art and fine wire jewelry, transforming personal stories into powerful works of expression.

We’re excited to share that they’ll also be teaching a Wire-Wrapped Jewelry Workshop at Alton Art Revival on the 18th of this month. Whether you’re curious about jewelry making or looking to learn a new creative skill, this is a wonderful opportunity to learn directly from their unique artistic perspective.

Here’s another one of our talented Resident Artists, Isabella Empey Art.

Isabella’s work is rooted in transformation, exploring the space between who we were and who we are becoming. Through layered acrylic, alcohol ink, plaster, and resin, she creates pieces that invite reflection, revealing depth, softness, and resilience over time. Her paintings offer viewers a place to pause, connect, and find meaning within their own journey of becoming.

We would like to introduce you to another one of our new resident artists.

Gloria Arndt is a wonderfully talented painter and an even better human being. You will notice the graphics for this introduction is a little lacking compared to the others.

That's because in addition to joining us at the Gallery, she has stepped up and taken over the majority of our social media for the last several weeks. We never would have been able to create the amazing content you've seen lately with all the other crazy going on.

We owe Gloria a huge thank you! And look at her work! We are honored to have her in our gallery and in our lives.
