He y'all 🫶 so yep, I am definitely closing, but we will be having major clearance of all items. We've got lots of art supplies, fabric, paint and stamps. We've got some shelves/fixtures too!
Not gonna lie, I'd love to stay open. I'd love to continue what my heart is into. But, in a small town, I just didn't have the support in town to make this economically viable.
I am not a rich person with disposable income. I'm an artist. I never wanted to make this about money, I ran it mostly like a non profit, with my own bills, well being and health suffering (mental and physical).
I will still be creating art, offering local workshops/paint nights at local businesses. (if you'd like one, please contact me!) and offering mural services in town.
ARTAVISTA IS NOT DEAD. Just the shop I had hoped to become a hub for fun, weird, upcycled and ACCESSIBLE art.
One thing I keep on seeing is wishes of "I should have come by! I should have booked a workshop !"🫠
Well, I CAN STILL DO THAT! I'll just come to you! Sooooo contact me! 👍😁👏

Welp.
I have made the INCREDIBLY tough decision to close.

Call it economy, small town woes, lack of support or I just need to pay my dang bills... It wasn't for lack of trying. And try I did. In a small town like Altavista. But no matter how much grass roots events, etc I did, I just couldn't keep doing it alone, with nobody coming in.

I tried making events free for the community... Crickets. After the summer, I thought it was just the season. Then fall. I started resenting something I loved.

So, before I get too far behind in bills (oh boy am I.) I'm going to have one final rodeo sale to help with final costs/cleaning and moving. Fixtures, bag fulls for cheap and tables/chairs. Heck, even my art on the walls is for sale, to help me pay for back rent. More details coming soon.

It's been a pleasure being part of this community and I'm still going to bring art supplies to punk rock flea markets, local events and more, but Artavista Studio as it is, will be no more.

We've got sewing machines! All serviced, oiled and ready to sew! Here's the thing... THESE ARE VINTAGE! There's a range of price points and a few that are excellent for beginners! Why spend money on a plastic machine when you can have an all metal body!? Do you sew denim, light leather or quilt? These machines are classic! ❤️👍💯

Just a note from Lil ol me, I'll be back in the shop tomorrow (Friday) 1-6 and Saturday 10-1 . I had to take benedryl due to some major allergy issues. Benedryl messes me up too 🤷 can't win lol. We got new stuff in the shop, come on by!
