The Buena Vista County Fair Board has some awesome wood carvings left from this past summer's fair, and we've decided to auction them off!

We're kicking things off with these two one-of-a-kind carvings that would make the perfect addition to any Hawkeye or Husker fan's collection!

💰 ALL proceeds from the auction go directly back to the Buena Vista County Fair! Your bids help us continue making improvements to our fairgrounds and bringing great events and entertainment to our community.

🏁🚨 FINAL CALL — RACETRACK PROMOTER WANTED! 🚨🏁

THIRD TIME'S THE CHARM… RIGHT?!

The Buena Vista County Fair Board is putting out our THIRD AND FINAL CALL for anyone interested in promoting the racetrack at the Buena Vista County Fairgrounds.

We have asked, we have advertised, and now we are down to the wire. We need to get this position filled, and we need serious interest NOW!

‼️ FRIDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2026 — FINAL DEADLINE! ‼️

If you are interested, you MUST submit your interest to the Fair Board by email NO LATER than October 23rd. [email protected]

NO SUBMISSION = NO CONSIDERATION.

We cannot stress this enough: If we do not receive your interest by the deadline, you WILL NOT be considered. No exceptions, no extensions, and no last-minute requests after the fact.

We want to see racing continue at the Buena Vista County Fairgrounds, but we need someone willing and ready to step up and make it happen!

🏁 PLEASE SHARE! If you know someone who has been talking about taking on the racetrack, NOW is the time to get their interest submitted!

The clock is ticking. October 23rd is IT! 🏁

🍀💚 Happy National 4-H Week! 💚🍀

The Buena Vista County Fair Board is proud to celebrate National 4-H Week and recognize the incredible 4-H members, leaders, volunteers, families, and Extension staff who make the 4-H program in Buena Vista County so special!

To our Buena Vista County 4-H’ers — we love watching you learn, grow, challenge yourselves, and proudly showcase your hard work each year at the fair. Whether it’s livestock, static exhibits, communication projects, leadership, or one of the many other opportunities 4-H provides, your dedication does not go unnoticed. 🍀

A huge THANK YOU also goes to our amazing 4-H leaders and volunteers who give countless hours encouraging and supporting our youth. Your time and commitment help create experiences and memories that will stick with these kids for years to come.

And, of course, we are incredibly thankful for the Buena Vista County Extension staff and everything they do behind the scenes throughout the entire year. The fair is only a few days each summer, but we know the work that goes into making those days possible happens all year long!

As a Fair Board, we are proud to support a program that helps build leaders, friendships, confidence, responsibility, and a love for giving back to our communities.

ATTENTION AREA FARMERS!

The Buena Vista County Fair now has grain donation accounts set up at AgState and Platinum Crush!

As harvest gets underway, please consider setting aside a few bushels as a Gift of Grain to the Buena Vista County Fair. It’s an easy way to support the fair and help us continue making improvements, providing opportunities, and keeping our county fair moving forward for years to come.

Donating is simple: When delivering your grain to AgState or Platinum Crush, just let them know how many bushels you would like to donate to the Buena Vista County Fair.
Whether it’s 10 bushels, 50 bushels, 100 bushels, or more — every bushel makes a difference! 🌽

Gifting grain may also offer producers tax advantages compared with making a traditional cash donation. Please consult with your tax advisor to determine how a gift of grain may apply to your individual situation.

Our fair continues to grow because of the generosity of the people and businesses in our community. This harvest season, we hope you’ll consider giving a few bushels back to the fair!
