~ Mother’s Day 399 Print Auction ~
Happy Mother’s Day to all the wild moms, human moms, and to all those who nurture and take care of another living being ❤️
In the wild, we think of the bear as the ultimate mama, fiercely protective and unrelenting. But in the wilderness of Yellowstone and Tetons, all the wild moms are built tough. And it’s one of my favorite things to watch, that kind of loyalty, dedication, but also tenderness we too can learn from 💕
For this Mother’s Day, I decided to auction one of my most popular 399 prints, “Yearning”.
I took this photograph when 399 let her quads go. What a contrast from what we had been observing for almost two weeks prior to that point, when her time was spent watching over her cubs (and waiting for the one who always run away). Witnessing this change, and a change in her demeanor, was an unforgettable experience. I still think about it in connection how we, humans, go through different seasons in life. Completely different worlds, but emotions like grief, joy, or love connect us all.
To keep honoring 399’s legacy, and the curiosity and care she inspired in so many, I will donate all the proceeds from this auction to the 399 Monument which will be placed near the front entrance of the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson Hole, Wyoming (which is a stellar place to visit, by the way).
The piece auctioned is a 16x24 metal print, and the current bid is $410 (I’ll update this number accordingly). If you’re interested, please drop your bid in the comments here, via FB messages, or on my instagram. The auction will close next Sunday, 17 May, midnight mountain time.
The buyer will be included in the Queen's Heart, with the buyer’s name printed on archival paper and placed in a stainless steel archival container that will be welded in the 399 monument in her heart region❤️
You can learn more about the monument here following the link in the comments.
Thank you 🐻
