Meet CMB:Corey Medina & Brothers (CMB) is a Native-led blues-rock band based in Bemidji, Minnesota, on Anishinaabe territory. The band was formed in 2015 by Diné (Navajo) singer-songwriter and guitarist Corey Medina. What started as a project rooted in brotherhood and trust has grown into a powerhouse four-piece known for raw emotion, soulful grit, and immersive live shows. Their performances move easily from tender storytelling to foot-stomping rock, inviting audiences to sing, sway, and dance together.

CMB’s mission is to uplift and empower people through meaningful music. Their sound carries both Indigenous roots and modern blues-rock energy, creating a connection that resonates with audiences across cultures and geographies.

Meet Kray Van Kirk: A fine finger-style guitarist with a precise baritone, Kray Van Kirk has a Ph.D. from the University of Alaska, but he set science aside to write songs, tell stories and summon heroes. Within those songs and stories are echoes he hopes audiences will hear and realize that THEY are the summoned heroes. With the release of his 6th CD, Empire (March 1, 2026), he addresses justice, fury, and renewal in the face of 500 years of Empire in the US.

"We are driven by myth and the seasons of the heart," he says. “There is a reason for hero stories, hidden in plain sight and cloaked in the everyday. The dragons look different, the monsters wear suits, the quest hides behind the mundane and appears utterly futile, but the work is the same. Everyone, of every identity and history, has a verse in the shouted poetry of dawn, the quest towards a common humanity free from Empire."
