Choir rehearsals begin on Monday for a FANTASTIC season of music planned! Please mark your calendars with these dates! In addition to these dates, we will also be hosting a special Carnegie Hall Fundraiser concert on Friday, December 11th at 7pm at Redeemer Church in Dewitt! Stay tuned for more information!

Alma College Choirs is excited to announce their director Dr. Nicole Mattfeld's Carnegie Hall conducting debut in March 2027 as part of MidAmerica Production’s 44th season!

All the students in the Alma College choral program for the '26-'27 school year will be performing in this concert; we also hope to gather a large group of alumni, faculty, & parents to join in singing as well! There will be more specific information regarding this shortly, as well as communication from the Alma College Alumni Association.

This is a five-day residency in New York City (March 4-8) with the concert on Sunday, March 7, 2027. MidAmerica Productions offers two package options to groups looking to participate in their Carnegie Hall residencies. Choir directors - you can bring your entire choir or a portion of your choir & registration is due by July 1, 2026.

WE NEED YOUR HELP! The Alma Choirs will be hosting a silent auction at the 2026 Homecoming Choir Concert on Saturday, September 26th this year. Do any of you own businesses or have contacts with businesses who could donate items?? Bidding will be available both in person & online for some of the items. Any money raised at the auction will go towards our March 2027 Carnegie Hall performance. Email Dr. Mattfeld at [email protected] with any connections or donations!

Alma College students collaborated with composer and alumnus Justin Rito ’08 to premiere a new musical work, gaining hands-on performance experience while showcasing the strength of Alma’s music program.

We are extremely excited to share the professional recording of Alma College Choirs and Alma Orchestra performing Dr. Justin Rito's "Social Justice Magnificat" from this past spring. Rito's setting sheds new light on a very famous text, hearing a call in Mary's words to confront inequality & concern for those on society's margins.

Another clip from our recent tour featuring part of Till Meyn’s setting of the Scottish folk song “The Lily and the Rose” in the GORGEOUS St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh, Scotland. We were honored to sing this Scottish song for the first time in the country that inspired it. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
