Started this little beauty at the NAEA Conference in Chicago at the beginning of the month. It has been a great way to find little moments of peace to stitch throughout my days in the classroom. I’m not sure what will be next with this project, but I really love this little square. And I learned a lot! Thanks ! ❤️

Arkansas Peace Week School Finalists. I’m so proud of our middle school students’ hard work on this project. It was a very difficult decision to choose these finalists. Their work is currently displayed in the halls of AMS, along with many other beautiful artworks created by their classmates that express peace and nonviolence. We could all use a little more peace in our communities!

I completed my most recent portrait last month as a memorial for a loved one. This portrait took longer than usual because I’ve been dealing with carpel tunnel for the past year or so. Right now I’m recovering from surgery to rectify that, so it’ll be a few more weeks before I’m back to portraiture. But this one was a sweet creation and reveal, as the portrait was an emotional surprise after just a few months grieving her loss. Grief is such a personal journey; it’s an honor to be able use my art to help others walk through it.
