Founded in 1998, the Allen Philharmonic Orchestra & Symphony Chorus consists of a professional philharmonic orchestra and a community based symphony chorus. We are a 501(c) 3, non-profit organization, funded by corporate and individual donations, civic grants, the City of Allen, and the Allen Arts Alliance. Our mission is to enhance our community’s rich culture, foster a community-wide appreciatio

n for music, and support local businesses in our community. We offer the following events and activities to provide the best musical opportunities possible in our community:
- Support the Allen Folk Music Society.
- Support Guitars for Veterans
- Present the Harvey Phillips Foundation’s Allen Tuba Christmas at Watters Creek
- Present the Allen ISD Fourth Grade Youth Concert at the Allen ISD Performing Arts Center
- Partner with area school districts to provide clinicians and master classes as districts prepare for UIL competitions
- Collaborate with the Allen Civic Ballet to perform The Nutcracker. It is one of few in the DFW metroplex with a live orchestra
- Provide students in seventh grade and up volunteer opportunities to earn service hours for school/scout/church community programs
- Partner with the Allen Public Library to present Concerts for Young Audiences, with themes from the annual ALLen Reads Book selections.

Today (and tomorrow) is the day!

Join us for The Conductor’s Spellbook, a magical and interactive concert designed for kiddos and families.

The Conductor's Spellbook allows kids to discover the orchestra, and even try their hand at casting spells on the orchestra! We'll also play epic music from Lord of the Rings on the program.

📍 Today (Sat May 9) at Allen Public Library, 2pm. Kids crafts at 1pm.
📍 Tomorrow (Sun May 10) at Frisco Public Library, 2pm (free tickets distributed at 1:30)

The spellbook opens this weekend! Join us for "The Conductor’s Spellbook," a magical orchestral concert designed especially for families.

The show includes music from The Lord of the Rings and The Conductor's Spellbook, an interactive musical story that introduces kids to the instruments of the orchestra.

📍 Saturday, 2pm — Allen Public Library. Crafts begin at 1pm.
📍 Sunday, 2pm — Frisco Public Library (free tickets distributed at 1:30)

Join our Symphony Chorus tomorrow (Sun, May 3) at 4pm at Christ the Servant Lutheran in Allen!

The Allen Symphony Chorus invites you to celebrate the arrival of spring with A Choral Bouquet, a one-hour concert of beautiful and expressive choral works. Like a thoughtfully arranged bouquet of spring flowers, each selection offers its own unique color and character, blending into a vibrant tapestry of sound. Featuring music by composers such as Johannes Brahms, Dan Forrest, Morten Lauridsen, and our own choral director, Patrick Vu.

This concert is a chorus only concert and will not include the orchestra. Admission is free, but we will conduct a free-will offering you can contribute to if you love the performance! The magic is almost here!

In just one week, the Allen Philharmonic brings The Conductor’s Spellbook to the stage for a fun, interactive orchestral adventure for young audiences.

The program features magical music, storytelling, and chances for the kiddos to cast musical spells and conduct along with the orchestra!

May 9 – Allen Public Library
May 10 – Frisco Public Library

Looking for a fun and educational event for your kids in Allen or Frisco?

Our upcoming program, "The Conductor’s Spellbook," is designed especially for families! The concert includes storytelling, musical demonstrations, and plenty of opportunities for kids to learn about the orchestra. They'll even have the chance to try casting spells on the orchestra to see if they can get it to properly respond!
