We had a SPECIAL VISITOR today at Crickets Corner...
For those of you from Center Area High School in the Mid-Eighties, who doesn't remember Charlie Druzak???
If you remember Charlie from the LEGENDARY MAXIM D's days, Charlie was known to those of us who were close to him as "CHUNGA".
Charlie as well over 6ft tall, 335lbs and amazingly FAST for his size....We used to "bill" ourselves as the Wrestling Tag-Team known as "The Barrel Brothers"...Charlie was my Doorman on Maxim D's Sunday's "Under 21 Night" and I will neither confirm nor deny that Chunga may have been one of the scant few people who I may or may not have let into the bar BEFORE they were 21...Normally, I tried to stay LEGAL...But Charlie worked at VESUVIO'S and those guys were my BEST CUSTOMERS....No Sh*t...The only people who were ever permitted, by me, to get "Shots To Go"....They were just taking them up to the shop....You know how "Stressful" a Pizza Shop can get and they needed to take the Edge Off....
(I'm assuming the Statute of Limitations has run out on any of these "infractions of the Law"
I'm thrilled to say that God has truly smiled on Charlie and given him a "New Lease on Life" and I, personally, am looking to see him at Crickets Corner with a few of the "Usual Suspects".....Definitely a Nice Visit....Great Memories...
