Kathy Z made these earrings in my Continue On with Nancy class.
Continue On is a great class to explore , hone skills, create your own designs.
One of the processes I like to encourage is to practice designs and techniques in Copper or Brass first. Kathy did just that, perfecting her hammering technique for this earring in copper, before making three pair of these in Sterling.
One for herself, and two for gifts. And I hear the recipients loved them!

You may remember previous posts about Kathy and her jewelry making journey. She came to jewelry classes wanting to learn more about the process, since her Grandmother was a silversmith in the 60s. Kathy remembers her Grandmas workshop, and has inherited some of her jewelry creations . Amongst the beautiful pieces her Grandma made , are a few pieces that were never completed. This bracelet is an example of that. Carefully wrapped in Saran / Cling Wrap for the last 60 years ( was it even called Saran / Cling Wrap back then?) it was never worn, as it had no clasp.So Kathy made a toggle clasp, polished it, and will now be able to wear it, and enjoy it even more.Kathy this journey with you is so fun!

This was the last week of my classes before the summer session begins in June.Dont forget to sign up for summer classes if you haven’t already - I still have openings in my evening Continue On with Nancy classes in June and July.
So if you have been putting off finishing that project, now is your opportunity!
And speaking of finishing projects, Wendy finished this beautiful necklace this week. She made this piece as a gift , -the initials and birthstone being symbolic for the person who will be receiving it. The other students and I were all moved by the thought and emotion she put into the piece.It is truly a gift from her heart, and hands. Beautiful in every way Wendy. Like you.

Attention all Fine Line students, and anyone else who loves to attend art shows.Fine Line will be participating in the Fox River Arts Ramble. And I will be exhibiting at the Fine Line part of the Ramble. Just a few weeks away. Great opportunity to see the artwork of some of the Fine Line faculty and students, as well as other area artists.

I’ve got a great way for you to spend a couple of Saturdays this summer! I’m teaching Continue On with Nancy classes at Fine Line Creative Arts Center. The June session is shown below. Go to FineLine.org to sign up, or follow the Fine Line link above.
The great thing about Saturday Continue On is they are 5 hour classes. It is remarkable how much more you can accomplish in 5 hours than a 3 or 4 hour class. You get an uninterrupted flow going, and things just take off!
Don’t believe me? Try it. You will get spoiled 🙂

Another piece completed this week, is Christa’s sterling necklace with pearl . The 3 oval textured loops, are similar elements that are in a bracelet she made last fall. . Nice coordinating set!
And there may be a ring design in the works…….

Sorry I didn’t catch the detail/ texture on the side, it complements the pattern in the stone!

Some nice new work completed in my Continue On with Nancy classes this weeks at Fine Line Creative Arts Center.
Pat finished this stunning square ring with an amethyst cabochon! And look at the manicure to set it off! ( jealous)
