Hey everybody,
Have you taken my Stacking Rings class? Or my Square Stacking Rings class?
Wanna add some sparkle to your stack of rings?
ONE space left in my upcoming “Intro to tube setting” class at Fine Line Creative Arts Center.
You can make either square or round rings, and choose from probably 8-9 colors of CZs to set.
Favorite color purple? Check. Like a clear stone that will go with everything? Got it. Or choose from a bunch of others, my supply always varies. Tuesday nights in November/ early December.
You know you want that extra sparkle for the Holidays. Grab that last space in this class. You know you’ll have fun.

So for those of you who know Jane Cooper, I had the pleasure of catching up with her via phone tonight. For those of you who don’t know Jane, She was a part of the Fine Line community for years, before moving to the East Coast last year. She is a very talented artist and metalsmith. Below is work from a recent workshop she participated in in Massachusetts. We miss you Jane, and your name still comes up in classes.

Check this little penguin out!
Toni designed and made this piece in my Continue On With Nancy class at Fine Line Creative Arts Center She was inspired by the shape of the stone- it reminded her of a penguin. I’d say she was right on the money. Perfect use of this stone!
So we won’t see any more of Toni for awhile, as she goes back to Arizona til spring. Safe travels Toni, and see you next year! Great work these past number of months! Cant wait to see what you come up with next year

There are new openings in my Continue On with Nancy Session B evening class beginning NEXT Wednesday at Fine Line Creative Arts Center!
If you haven’t taken “Continue On” before- this class is about you continuing your jewelry making journey. You will design the pieces you are going to make, and bring materials to make them.
OR you will “ Continue On “ by finishing something you haven’t finished from a previous class.
Additionally you can “Continue On” with a class you already took- So you have materials left from a Circle and Loop class? Or a Stacking Ring class? Make more Circle and Loop earrings and pendants , or More stacking rings in this 5 week class!
Start thinking about Holiday gifts. Maybe you want to make something for friends and family this year?

You know what else I want to mention today? STONE A PALOOZA is happening next month at Fine Line.
This is when The Gem Shop from Wisconsin brings all kind of gorgeous stones available for purchase. Like 7 tables filled with cut cabochons ready to set, stone slabs ready to cut into cabs, and sometimes they bring geodes and other cool stuff too.
If you haven’t set any stones , and want to learn how to set a cabochon, I will be offering that again in 2027. For first time stone setters, you will want to buy stones that have a hardness of 7-8, a nice flat back, a reasonable thickness and sloped sides, not straight sides. Easiest shape to learn bezel setting on is an oval, round is next easiest. Avoid sharp points like teardrops, marquis and squares for first time setting.

And I’ll be in the metals / jewelry studio on that day -you can pop in between my classes( between 4-6pm ) if you want my input on stones !
And PS you DO get a stone with my bezel cabochon Ring and pendant class, but those from the Gem Shop are extra special, and would be great for you to continue your stone setting journey !

So for those of you who take classes at Fine Line Creative Arts Center, and are not yet a member of Fine Line - Consider signing up for a membership.
If you take just 2 classes a year-the membership just about pays for itself. Annual membership is $60. You save $25 on each class you take right off the bat.
Then you save MORE if you sign up for a class in the first few days the next semesters classes go live online.
So in this case the next semester is January through May 2027. The classes go live sometime between Nov 15, and the end of November 2026.( I don’t know the date just yet)
So do you see where I’m going with this? Get your membership BEFORE classes go live, to get the most bang for your buck!

I had two new students in my class today. I was fortunate to strike up a conversation with them at the recent Riverwalk Art Fair in Naperville, which led them to signing up for my class. They also happen to live in the same town as I do, which is quite a distance from Naperville. What are the chances?
In addition, Carol has always wanted to learn how to make jewelry! Certain things are simply meant to be.
Kim and Carol, welcome to Fine Line Creative Arts Center! I look forward to seeing you in a future class! You were both delightful, and I had a blast.
You are both fast learners-completing multiple stacking rings in a single five-hour class!

What a fantastic class today!
I adore how jewelry can help us remember important times in our life. This summer, Katie traveled to Poland and had a great time! While traveling, she purchased a couple pieces of Amber. She set one of the stones in this ring. She will be reminded of her magical trip each time she wears the ring.
The ring looks like it should have been on her hand all along-a perfect color and design to suit her coloring AND personality!
