Shanty Days “Celebration of the Lake” is a three-day fun filled family festival that has become an Algoma tradition. Featuring one of Wisconsin's largest parades, a car cruise and show, 150+ arts and crafts & street fair vendors, 5k walk/run as part of the Bellin Title Town Series, great food, and live music all weekend long. Plus fun for the kids, fishing contest and more! Located right on Lake

Michigan in downtown Algoma, it has proven to be a yearly destination for local residents and tourists alike.

Warm sand, cool breeze…it was a great day for volleyball on Crescent Beach!

Here are a few photos from the mid-morning games of the Shanty Days "Battle on the Beach" Volleyball Tournament volleyball tournament.

We would like to give a shoutout the City of Algoma DPW for keeping our sand swept and to all the volunteers who helped set up the tournament.

The Juniors tournament runs on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

2026 Shanty Days Parade Winners Announced!
We knew with a theme like 'Party Like It's 1987!" there would be some very colorful entries, and the parade participants did not disappoint!

Thank you to EVERYONE who made our 2026 Shanty Days parade so much fun!
