Here is the thing. It is made of 5 different clay bodies fired in a total of 4 different atmospheres/temperatures. There is also concrete and cherry wood in there. Tada.

So long Alfred University. It seems crazy but this is the last collection of photos from my BFA thesis show and from my time at Alfred as a whole. Reflecting back on my show and my time at Alfred, I just can’t overstate how incredibly thankful I am. I am especially thankful for my amazing faculty mentors: Linda Sikora, Paul Briggs, Matt Kelleher, and Wayne Higby. I wouldn’t be the artist I am today without their speaking into my life.

I have a job and a bunch of other stuff going on which I’ll probably post about sometime later. If you like to see what I’m making then look forward to more coming down the road. I’m going to try to be a little more consistent on the ol instagram so we shall see how that goes.

Some photos of the 60 piece dinner ware set that stared in my senior show. This set was a crazy amount of work over the course of only about 2 months. A lot went wrong so I probably made nearly 100 pieces in my attempt to get these 60. Crazy times.

One of my favorite pieces from my senior thesis show. This is a three piece wine service composed of two stemless porcelain wine glasses atop of a stoneware tray which has a porcelain presentation dish for a wine bottle glaze fused directly to its surface. Special thanks to my professor .0 for all the amazing input he gave me that lead to this piece.

A tea set from my thesis show at Alfred University. The set is made of a white porcelain that has been glaze fused to a black stoneware which I have been formulating during my time at Alfred. The set was single fired to cone 10 in a reducing atmosphere with a crash cool and reduction cool.

Had a good time firing our duel fuel wood/gas kiln yesterday. I am doing some copper flashing sagger stuff which I hope to post of pictures of once we unload. I also tried hikidashi for the first time during this firing which I’ll post some pictures of soon.

A piece from last semester that I am very proud of but forgot to post about. This guy was fired in the middle of our train kiln, next to one of the side stokes. The only glaze on this fella is what the kiln put on it in the form of wood ash. I hope y’all like it as much as I do!

Also, big shout out to . I made this piece in a class he taught last semester. Thanks a ton Matt.
