We had a great time hosting a meditation, poetry and art workshop at in collaboration with .dc We loved connecting with the community, hearing everyone’s stories was so heartwarming and inspiring. Hi, we’re Amanda & Courtney — the duo behind Spirited Ink Studios. Somehow… it’s been ONE YEAR 😱 since we started mixing words + watercolor 🖋️🎨

In our first year, we:
💖 Hosted 21 events (markets, pop-ups, workshops, and private gatherings)
💖 Expanded into poetry art workshops & private events (DM us if you’re curious!)
💖 Created more than 50 custom poetry commissions - 4x6 art pieces and bookmarks
💖 Launched our Tiny Truth gacha machine - our take on a haiku fortune cookie, with a fun surprise

A few things people ask us:
- No, we don’t do tattoos (the “ink” is from the typewriter 😉)
- No, we don’t have a physical studio… yet 👀

But, yes really:
- Yes, it’s a real, working, vintage typewriter
- Yes, every piece is truly one of a kind (we’ve tried replicating it and it doesn’t work)
- Yes, we write and paint live on the spot

Last summer, we joined Mystic Market. We gifted them a poetry art piece, then Rick immediately commissioned another. When we asked if he had anything specific in mind, he said, walk around Magpie and see what inspires you.

Their sustainable antique shop was so cozy, filled with pieces that exuded culture and history.

We had such a great time creating this piece inspired by their space. We’re sad to see the shop close its doors, but we’re cheering them on as they shift into a new space and online!
