Throwin’ it back to my first DU event as PR Chair for Ducks Unlimited back in 2023! 🦆📸

This UL Lafayette Ducks Unlimited Student Chapter event was a night of food, raffles, fellowship, and everything in between! For those who don’t know, Ducks Unlimited is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation, preservation, and restoration of North America’s wetlands, marshlands, and surrounding habitats to ensure that waterfowl, as well as other species, have a safe place to call home. All Ducks Unlimited chapters are built by volunteers all working towards the same goal: to conserve the place we love so that we can share our favorite sport with future generations.

Not my best photography work, I’ll admit, but this was also three years ago 😛

BANNER COST BREAKDOWN 🎨💰

“It’s cheaper for me to just make it myself.” That’s something I hear all the time when it comes to banners. And while I love a good DIY project, sometimes it’s actually more cost-effective (and a lot less stressful) to hire someone who’s already invested in the supplies, tools, and experience.

Just for fun, I put together a breakdown of what it would cost to get started making banners yourself if you woke up one day and thought, “I’m just gonna do it myself.” (Trust me, I’ve been there.)

For consistency, these prices are based on purchasing everything from Walmart. In reality, my supplies come from a variety of stores, and actual costs may vary.

🎨 Brushes: $29.42
🎨 Paints: $46.50
🎨 Other Supplies: $99.65
🎨 Subscriptions: $18.00–$30.99

💰 Total Startup Cost: $193.57–$206.56

And that’s before factoring in the time spent learning, designing, sketching, painting, fixing mistakes, and perfecting your technique. 😉

Sometimes DIY is fun. Sometimes it’s easier to just send me your vision and let me bring it to life! 🎨

Ever wondered how banner artists bring their ideas to life? Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at my mock-up process! From the first idea to the final design, every banner starts with a vision and a whole lot of creativity.

Depending on the design, this process can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. This particular mock-up took me about an hour to create — and every detail was completely worth it!
