Boredom struck, and this cutie little door hanger came out of it! 👻🧡

I had a vision (and a porch goose with a Halloween outfit that obviously needed matching decor 😂), so I pulled out my paints and got to work. It’s been a HOT minute since I’ve painted on wood, and she definitely has her little imperfections, but I’m so proud of how she turned out!

I know it’s easier to have a banner printed at Walgreens or grab a door hanger off the shelf at a chain store, but handmade will always have my heart. There’s just something about knowing a real person sat down with a paintbrush (4 hours, to be exact) and turned an idea into something completely their own.

Handmade isn’t supposed to look like it rolled off an assembly line. The little imperfections, brushstrokes, and details are what give it personality—and I think that’s what makes it special. 🫶🏼

Anyway… maybe boredom needs to strike more often. 😏😛

Little PSA 🎨

While I absolutely love painting banners for your birthdays, engagements, parties, and events, one thing I will not do is recreate an AI-generated design.

I’m always open to your ideas, themes, colors, and inspo pics, and I LOVE bringing your vision to life—but I won’t paint an AI-generated mock-up. (And yes, I can tell the difference between a Pinterest inspo pic and something generated through ChatGPT or Google Gemini 😛)

Part of ordering a custom, hand-painted banner is getting something that was actually created for YOU.

After all, it’s KAYLEE Creative for a reason 😘

On a different note, thank you guys so much for supporting my favorite pastime!

All my love,
Kaylee 🤍

Throwin’ it back to my first DU event as PR Chair for Ducks Unlimited back in 2023! 🦆📸

This UL Lafayette Ducks Unlimited Student Chapter event was a night of food, raffles, fellowship, and everything in between! For those who don’t know, Ducks Unlimited is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the conservation, preservation, and restoration of North America’s wetlands, marshlands, and surrounding habitats to ensure that waterfowl, as well as other species, have a safe place to call home. All Ducks Unlimited chapters are built by volunteers all working towards the same goal: to conserve the place we love so that we can share our favorite sport with future generations.

Not my best photography work, I’ll admit, but this was also three years ago 😛

Event: UL Lafayette Ducks Unlimited Sportsman’s Night Out
Location: Service Chevrolet Cadillac

BANNER COST BREAKDOWN 🎨💰

“It’s cheaper for me to just make it myself.” That’s something I hear all the time when it comes to banners. And while I love a good DIY project, sometimes it’s actually more cost-effective (and a lot less stressful) to hire someone who’s already invested in the supplies, tools, and experience.

Just for fun, I put together a breakdown of what it would cost to get started making banners yourself if you woke up one day and thought, “I’m just gonna do it myself.” (Trust me, I’ve been there.)

For consistency, these prices are based on purchasing everything from Walmart. In reality, my supplies come from a variety of stores, and actual costs may vary.

🎨 Brushes: $29.42
🎨 Paints: $46.50
🎨 Other Supplies: $99.65
🎨 Subscriptions: $18.00–$30.99

💰 Total Startup Cost: $193.57–$206.56

And that’s before factoring in the time spent learning, designing, sketching, painting, fixing mistakes, and perfecting your technique. 😉

Sometimes DIY is fun. Sometimes it’s easier to just send me your vision and let me bring it to life! 🎨

LET’S MAKE A BANNER TEMPLATE! 🎨✨

Ever wondered how banner artists bring their ideas to life? Here’s a little behind-the-scenes look at my mock-up process! From the first idea to the final design, every banner starts with a vision and a whole lot of creativity.

Depending on the design, this process can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. This particular mock-up took me about an hour to create — and every detail was completely worth it!

Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, graduation, recruitment, engagement, or any special event, I’d love to help bring your vision to life. Message me and let’s get started on your custom mock-up! 💌

GOLDEN HOUR + GOOD COMPANY ☀️ | 06.24.2023

When your friend calls and asks you to take her portraits, you say YES! Shiloh and I had so much fun during this session, but then again, there has never been a time that we’ve hung out and didn’t have a blast.

In need of portraits, headshots, or something in between? You know who to call 😉
