“Line”, on view February 20–March 22, is the first installment of two exhibitions celebrating the 55th anniversary of the Edward Hopper House Museum & Study Center in Nyack, NY. Selections by Indira A. Abiskaroon Valbuena, whose curatorial eye focused on strong themes "Light" and "Line" that came forth and that she felt paid tribute to Hopper's artist development and his iconic style.

Curatorial Statement
A picnic in the park, laughing with friends, freshly delivered mail, basking in the sun, and sitting in calm retrospection are some of the little things that make life worth living. The brief moments where the world stands still for just an instant, and a deep peace passes through. The sun beating down on my face as a cool breeze flows through the air. Moments of joy in just existing in a loved one’s company as the boundaries between the outside and inside blur. A cat stretching lazily as the day passes slowly by. Times when there is nothing to do, and I can breathe again as the world finally comes to a halt for just a little while.

Reeana Miller is an Art History and Museum Professions student at the Fashion Institute of Technology. She has interned at The Arts Students League, White Columns, and Art Noir and was a museum facilitator for the Museum at FIT. She is currently developing a video art gallery called Yana, which hopes to be a space for young and emerging artists to showcase their perspective and impact change on the world.

This exhibition is the thirty-third in a series of online exhibitions curated exclusively from White Columns’ Curated Artist Registry.

My current show, Portraiture at First Street Gallery, is on view through 9.13: https://www.artsy.net/show/first-street-gallery-portraiture-at-first-street-gallery

This is an Artsy online exclusive show, featuring several of our artist members at First Street Gallery.

Release:
First Street is proud to present the online exclusive exhibition, “Portraiture at First Street Gallery,” featuring works by nine gallery artists from August 18 to September 13, 2025. Timeless in nature, portrait painting lends itself to more than just a likeness. It transcends the physical to reveal glimpses of inner worlds, essences, and the emotional landscapes that define the human experience. The artists in this exhibition engage portraiture as a powerful conduit for exploring identity, memory, and connection—through bold self-portraits, depictions of loved ones, and even imagined or anonymous figures. Vivid colors and patterns, intimate settings, and thoughtfully composed objects open a window into the complexities of emotion and presence.

Participating Artists: Suzi Evalenko, Tim Kennedy, Michele Liebler, Rallou Malliarakis, Eve Mansdorf, Steve Moors, Lisa Noble, Jill Sarver Rossi, and Nicole Santiago.

There's a new post on my blog that talks a bit about what I have been doing in the studio lately.

Looking Ahead in 2025 New Works in Progress, Studio View, 2025 I know, the timing feels off to be writing a ‘looking ahead’ post when it’s already April, but things have been moving slowly this year. If I could only kick my addiction to running, I would have more energy to studio. Thing is, I ...

White Columns Online #28: Lookers, Curated by Marie Catalano—I am extremely proud to be included in this online exhibition.

I was recently accepted into the White Columns Curated Artist Registry, an online platform for emerging and under-recognized artists to share images and information about their respective practices. The Registry seeks to create a context for artists who have yet to benefit from wider critical, curatorial or commercial support. To be eligible, artists cannot be affiliated with a commercial gallery in New York City.

White Columns was founded in 1970 by a group of artists including Jeffrey Lew and Gordon Matta-Clark as an experimental platform for art. Originally located in SoHo (and known as the 112 Workshop/112 Greene Street), the organization was renamed White Columns when it moved to Spring Street in 1980. In 1991 White Columns moved to Christopher Street in the West Village, and in 1998 the gallery relocated to the borders of the West Village and Meat Packing District. In April 2018, White Columns re-opened in a new location at 91 Horatio Street adjacent to the new Whitney Museum of American Art and The High-Line.

White Columns is New York City’s oldest alternative non-profit space.

I'm extremely proud to support the WPA in their annual Collectors Night benefit auction. Bidding is open on Artsy via the link below. Char Coal, created in 2023, is from my current series exploring my first love for drawing. The painting is an oil and ink work on canvas, measuring 40inx30in, and is floated in white gallery-style frame. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of my pieces while at the same time supporting the arts in Washington, DC!
