Poetry Out Loud is a national high school poetry recitation competition that connects students with the power of spoken poetry through performance, mentorship, and creative expression.
Our Regional Competition will be held on Thursday, January 29, at Coughlin-Saunders Performing Arts Center in Alexandria, LA.
Region 6: Avoyelles, Catahoula, Concordia, Grant, LaSalle, Rapides, Vernon, and Winn Parishes

CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Are you a teacher, organization leader, performing artist, or someone passionate about poetry? The Arts Council of Central Louisiana needs YOU!

We are searching for 3-5 volunteers to judge our Region 6 Poetry Out Loud Competition on February 13th at 6pm. Poetry Out Loud is an arts education program that encourages the study of great poetry by offering educational materials and a dynamic recitation competition to high school students, in grades 9th- 12th across the country.

Lesson plan ideas and a toolkit to host the competition at your school are available at www.poetryoutloud.org.
