Hey all… I feel weird about continuing this page since I have left ACS. I am likely just going to leave it but not post here anymore… I just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful memories that will stay in my heart forever. YOU ALL made me love my job and I am so thankful for you! I hope you treasure the wonderful times (and yes, even my “show week” grumpies) we shared as I always will. Much love…

Students from Select Choir past and present sang the national anthem to honor Coach Diane Bush, a woman who shaped the lives of thousands of students over her many years at ACS. As a music director, I will say that Coach Bush always worked with me to make sure kids who were both athletes and musicians had a fair chance to do both things, and she was always amazingly supportive of all kids in everything they did. She always just wanted them to be strong, learn life lessons, and be successful. Her heart was - and still is - full of purple pride and love!! Your community loves you, Diane!!

A day filled with music and spreading holiday cheer! Thank you to Jena at River Hospital and Johnny at Ives Hill Retirement Community for having us today to sing for residents/patients! Thank you for the hot cocoa and cookies at the hospital, too! So very nice!! Many thanks to chaperones, Andrea Britton Adsit and Lynn M. Blakeney for being there with the kids and for the pics and videos!!

ACS Select Choir is headed out to spread holiday cheer and sing carols today! We are performing for the residents of Ives Hill Retirement Community and then we are singing on the 2nd floor at River Hospital! These kids are awesome and I love seeing them spread holiday cheer!!

I’d really love to feature an Alexandria Central School alumni (student, teacher- either!) that is a mature adult woman to be my “bird woman” in Mary Poppins! It’s one song and a small feature but I’d love it to be authentic! There are LOTS of other parts to go around! Getting excited about our trip to NYC to see these amazing shows, perform with 17 other schools from across the US, see WICKED on Broadway, and experience the beauty of the city in the winter!! So fun!! Grateful to our Alexandria Central School District admin for allowing us this opportunity!!! 💜🎶
