60 second timelapse of the bass painting if anyone would like to take a minute to watch

This painting was inspired by private land we used to sneak into when we were kids and caught giant bass. No worries we have permission to fish it now😜This ...

Finished this one up last night. I’ve been doing a little practice trying to capture that wet shine on the fish and the splash of water when they jump. Both of those effects have always been a bit tricky for me to pull off convincingly.

Getting a fish to look wet while it’s jumping out of water turns out to be one of those artistic challenges that sounds simple until you actually try it. Then you discover it’s about as cooperative as a five pound bass on four pound test in heavy cover.

Still learning and experimenting, but I think it’s starting to come around.

Brown Trout rising for a mayfly. This one took me around 14 hours. I struggled with the wet shine on the head and the water refraction distortion on the body under water. But I think I got close. 🤔

Here is part 3 of the yellow trout wood carving project. Part two was running long so I separated the tail section for a stand alone video segment reference.
I also talk about our new FaceBook group called Fishcarving Inspiration in this segment which I will be promoting more in future videos.
Hope you enjoy it. Be sure and give it a like and subscribe if you haven’t already.

Another painting in a series of digital paintings I’ve been doing. This one is of a rainbow trout. It’s a 60 second time lapse of a 15 hour project done over a three day period. These are done on my iPad with an Apple pencil using a drawing and painting app called Procreate.
The drawing/painting process is the same tecniques that id use if using real paint with real brushes on canvas.
This is a link to my youtube channel, if you enjoy the video Leave a like (on the video) and if you don’t mind share with family or friends that like fishing and or art.
More carving videos coming soon!

Here’s a couple recent paintings I did on my iPad using Procreate and an Apple Pencil. These are not AI and there’s no automated magic involved. Just the same old-fashioned process, minus the mess.

I start with a rough sketch, refine the drawing, then lay in the base colors. From there I build the painting by adding color and detail layers until it’s finished. The only real difference is that I can make changes on individual layers without affecting the rest of the painting.

And best of all, there are no paint fumes, no spilled cups of water or paint thinner, no paint brushes to clean up and no towering piles of paper towels threatening to take over the room,
And I can do it from the comfort of my recliner while watching TV😝

That said, I can still get the same results with real paint, real brushes, and a canvas or art board. The tools may change, but the process and the fundamentals stay the same.
I’ll post a 60 second time lapse video of each one shortly if anyone is interested in watching them progress from start to finish.

Little winter time digital painting practice. Hope you enjoy this quick 35 second timelapse painting of a long ear sunfish. It’s the first one I’ve ever attempted digitally or traditionally.
This one took about 14 hours from start to finish.

EDIT: i hate that facebook compresses the file so much. It may be blurry and lacking detail watching it through the FB link.
If you go directly to YouTube and Danny Harris Arts it’ll play a lot clearer and cleaner.
