If you are a senior it’s time to start applying for your scholarships!! Check this one out.
This year the Mercer County Fair Board and the Spike Heck Family will be awarding a $1,000 scholarship to graduating seniors from the following high schools:
• Alwood
• Mercer County
• Monmouth Roseville
• Orion
• Sherrard
• United
• West Central
This scholarship is in honor of Spike Heck, a special friend and groundkeeper of the Mercer County Fair. Spike passed away in September, 2021 and each year the fair holds a tractor ride in his memory. His love of the fair along with the many who participate in the ride allows us to offer this scholarship in his name to those who also have an interest in both the fair and agriculture.
How to Apply
Copies will be available through each guidance counselor of your high schools. Applications are due on or before March 15, 2026. No late applications will be accepted. All applications are to be emailed to: [email protected]
Who is Eligible?
Applicants must be a 2026 graduating senior from one of the above high schools. The applicant must be planning on attending an accredited two or four year college, university or voacational-technical school in the U.S. Applicant must have an agricultural area of concentration and have participated in either FFA/and or 4-H.
How Are Recipients Selected?
This scholarship will be awarded to an individual who demonstrates academic excellence, community and school involvement and of good character. Applications will be reviewed by the selection committee and will be notified at a later date.
