The ATC Stringband is back again at ABQ Folk Fest!

The ATC Varsity Stringband is a youth folk and bluegrass ensemble from the Academy for Technology & the Classics (ATC), a public charter school in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The student band performs traditional American, New Mexican, and Cajun music at local festivals and events. The group is taught and led by award-winning music teacher and musician, Eric Carlson.

2026 Albuquerque Folk Festival Sing Alongs, Jams, Storytelling, Workshops, etc
Every 1st Sunday – Sing-Along Every 1st Sunday 4-6pm.

2026 Albuquerque Folk Festival Concerts scheduled so far:
June 5 – The Kipsies and Lady Fingers and a Thing’r Too play at the NM Cancer Center in support of the Gallery with a Cause on behalf the Albuquerque Folk Festival. FREE. Art is for sale to support the cause. Food truck, Art walk, Music.
June 7 – Dirty Old Town acoustic performance, Two Leaf Clover play at the ALMA amphitheater in the NE Heights for an abqfolkfest fundraiser! Information and reservations: [email protected]. Suggested Donation: Anything you want (fyi, most house concerts are at least $15-20 per person)
June 20 – Marsha Moors Charles promoting the Albuquerque Folk Festival
July 2 – ABQ Skeleton Crew with opening performance by OK Boomer play at the ALMA amphitheater in the NE Heights for an abqfolkfest fundraiser! Information and reservations: [email protected]. Suggested Donation: Anything you want (fyi, most house concerts are at least $15-20 per person)
July 28 – Arlan and Amy Johnson, + opening performance by Lady Fingers and a Thing’r Too play at the ALMA amphitheater in the NE Heights for an abqfolkfest fundraiser! Information and reservations: [email protected]. Suggested Donation: Anything you want (fyi, most house concerts are at least $15-20 per person)
Aug 1 – Luke Bulla performs at Covenant Presbyterian Church at 7pm
August 16 – Shaggy Peak Social Club from Santa Fe, + Cheap Adobes (Cheap Shots and Adobe Brothers members) play at the ALMA amphitheater in the NE Heights. This is to raise funds for our “sister organization”, Santa Fe Tradfest! Information and reservations: [email protected]. September 15 – Martha Spencer & The Wonderland Country Band (played at the abqfolkfest last year) play at the Rio Rancho House Concerts in Rio Rancho for an abqfolkfest fundraiser! September 26 –Albuquerque Folk Festival https://www.abqfolkfest.org 10am-9pm. Yay! Mark your calendar!

We’ve got an incredible lineup in store for this year’s Albuquerque Folk Festival! Kicking things off, we’re thrilled to welcome ABQ Skeleton Crew back to the stage!

ABOUT THE CREW: ABQ Skeleton Crew is a six member band featuring luscious harmonies and an eclectic repertoire of tunes. They draw from old to modern folk traditions, with a sprinkling of folk pop songs, classic rock, and a growing range of originals added to the mix. From Istanbul, Not Constantinople to John Ryan's Polka, they offer a wide range of instrumental combinations, including guitar, dobro, ukulele, bass, accordion, keyboard, hammer and mountain dulcimer, banjo, cajón, and the occasional household appliance! COME KICK UP YOUR HEELS AND SOOTHE YOUR SOUL WITH THE CREW!

🌵ABQ Folk Fest 2026 is set for Saturday, September 26, at the National Hispanic Cultural Center. Tickets to be announced soon!
