“It’s strange - you hear so many stories about well-adjusted lighthouse keepers through history. I can’t believe how quickly thoughts of writing my novel turned into thoughts of building a suit of armor out of seagull feet.”

“Adoption and Labeling Theory” 3/3

I think this sketch is one of my favorites. Yeah, it has a couple of pacing problems, but it’s fun and has a good style to the humor. We learned a lot from this one. Check it out on our YouTube channel.

“Adoption and Labeling Theory” 2/3

It’s not often I get to bring out the inner cholo, but luckily thirty years living in burque prepared me well.

“Adoption and Labeling Theory” 1/3

Ina and Sheldon are always fantastic to work with. Unfortunately, Ina moved away, so we haven’t been able to work together in years. But, we can hope to work together again some day!

“A Chairs of the Heart” 6/6

In the early 1900’s a dude named Méliès perfected the art of shooting something, stopping the camera but not moving it, then putting a new prop or character there and shooting again. What allows us to do is pop something into frame seemingly out of thin air. 115 years later, we used this to make our dumb, funny, and surprisingly heartfelt movie. Tonight, we pour a bit of our Mickeys out for our gone-but-not-forgotten homies, including Méliès.

“A Chairs of the Heart” 4/6

I don’t know how Melyssa was able to act so well opposite an inanimate chair and pretending it was Tommy. That’s some skill right there.

“A Chairs of the Heart” 3/6

We had a very silly time on set. Tommy went 1000% all in on this character, as evidenced by the scene where he gains his powers.

“A Chairs of the Heart” 2/6

We used a few, simple camera tricks to create the effect of Tommy popping in and out of his chair form. It was used to pretty great comedic effect.

“A Chairs of the Heart” 1/6

I believe this was our first 48 Hour Film as City College. We had done one previously with much of the same crew, but things really came together with this film. It was a ton of fun and the audience loved it!
