Long time, no see Facebook land! We want to make more of an effort in having a presence here on our page so you can see what the students and faculty are up to in our area of UNM Music.

This week's resource is Dr. Geoff Martin's online textbook "Introduction to Sound Recording". This textbook - which is still being expanded upon - is a fantastic resource for those who want a deep dive into the world of recording and music tech. I hope you find it useful:

Happy Friday, everyone!

We've been busy in the Lab, but it's been a great semester! Fundamentals of Music Technology (MUS 311) students wrote a 1-page score using their choice of Finale Music Notation Software, Musescore, or Avid Sibelius and "re-orchestrated/re-imagined" their score by exporting their MIDI data from the notation software and imported that data into Apple Logic Pro X. They then explored the various VST instruments/samplers and basic mixing tools (EQ, Pan, Volume) to re-imagine their original scores!

Take a listen to their re-orchestration projects, here:

The MUS 311 students have been hard at work with their modular synthesizer projects. We’re so proud to be offering students hands-on experience with our synthesizers.com modular system as an introduction to the basics of the synthesizer language. Their creative projects have been lots of fun to listen to. Take a listen and let us know what you think!
