The Nekroparlor is taking a break. If you haven't noticed, I have not made a real Instagram post, YouTube video, or new product since Albuquerque. I have been doing a LOT of behind-the-scenes work since I moved my workshop; spring cleaning, re-evaluating, rebuilding from the ground up sort of stuff.
I WILL NOT BE GONE FOREVER! This is not me closing my doors, just an FYI that I cannot continue *doing it all* until I knock out a few high priority tasks. I am a one man show and it can be hard enough to build a workshop, maintain beetles, operate my lab AND take Instagram pics, film for YouTube, work on commissions, etc.
So, for the time being, I am suspending the following aspects of my business-
-Social Media posting
-YouTube posting
-Patreon payments (now would be a good time to join my Patreon *for free* until I decide to resume)
All of these things will be suspended until I can accomplish THESE important things-
-Get my new workshop space completed and operational
-I finish ALL my commissions that I'm currently working on (this is the main reason I'm shutting down, my commission customers have been waiting FAR too long and they deserve better)
-I get ALL my old videos I've filmed edited and ready to post
I recently came to the realization that I am unable to "do it all" at my current pace, and I need to get some things out of the way before I can prepare for my upcoming Expos. So if that means that I have to go dark for another 6 months to get ahead, I will.
Having said that, I have one last thing to add:
I have decided to permanently stop doing commissions. I will honor any agreements and obligations to customers I have already committed to, but no more. As much as I love providing that special memorial for people, it is too much pressure. Commissions nearly always come with special requests, little touches that take up a lot of time. They normally get shelved and procrastinated while I prepare other things for big shows. They don't make me any money and too many people have been waiting YEARS for me to finish. I refuse to put more people through this unethical and poor business process by just ending it.
I'll see you on the other side
