Dwelling: an Immersive Performance Event at q-Staff Theatre
Albuquerque, NM – Dwelling is a one-night-only immersive performance event created collaboratively by a group of local artists as part of an international project exploring themes of home and belonging. Taking place on Saturday, June 21 at 8:00 PM, artists will transform q-Staff Theater into a living room cafe where scenes, sounds, storytelling, and images unfold all around them.

Lebanese-Palestinian American, born in Oakland California, Sammy Obeid double majored in Business and Mathematics at UC Berkeley and then turned down a job at Google to be a comedian. Now the host of 100 Humans on Netflix, he’s also appeared on NBC's Last Comic Standing and America's Got Talent, as well as TBS’s Conan, and is best known for his world record of performing comedy 1,001 nights in a row, a story featured in both Time Magazine and The New York Times.

James Tonic’s fifth album, marks a new chapter for the Montreal-born artist, blending pop, rock, and folk with his hip-hop origins. Produced by Chris Peden, the album features live instrumentation, including a 40-piece orchestra, creating a sound that captures the highs and lows of self-discovery and creative resilience. James’s lyrics in tracks like “One More Change” and “The Devil” dig deep into personal growth and the pressures of the music industry. Beyond music, James is a dedicated tech investor, developing a platform that helps musicians create automated websites to showcase their music and art. Hey!
This amazing movie is screening at the Santa Fe International Film Festival this Saturday the 19th, 1pm at the NMHM.
Several scenes were shot at q-Staff!!! Unfortunately most of those scenes didn't make it into the movie.
But, for approximately 10 seconds you can see our front door open. Holy Cow!!
Despite the lack of q-Staff theater in the Final Cut, this is a lovely and amazing film and it happens to be written by and staring one of our oldest and dearest friends, Shenoah Allen. Don' t miss this!!
