It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Noberta Fresquez, the visionary founder of Mariachi Spectacular de Albuquerque.
For more than three decades, Noberta's passion, leadership, and unwavering dedication transformed Mariachi Spectacular into one of the nation's premier mariachi educational conferences, inspiring generations of musicians, educators, and students while celebrating the rich traditions of mariachi music and culture.
Her vision created opportunities for countless artists and helped preserve a musical heritage that continues to unite communities across New Mexico and beyond. The impact of her life's work will be felt for generations to come through every student she inspired, every musician she mentored, and every performance made possible because of her dream.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Noberta's family, friends, and everyone whose lives she touched.
