🌾 STRAW APPLIQUÉ 🌾

Often called “poor man’s gold,” Straw Appliqué is a remarkable Spanish Colonial art form introduced to New Mexico through centuries of cultural exchange. Artists carefully cut, split, flatten, and apply straw by hand to create luminous floral, geometric, and devotional designs. This intricate tradition transforms humble natural materials into extraordinary works of art. ✨
