Street photography of the everyday working class in Istanbul. The photos are printed on mulberry paper, edges burnt with incense and collaged with circular monotypes. This work reflects on the 'scent of time' and how we often unwillingly chose to be blind to those supporting the foundations of everyday life.

This series includes:
1-loading beef from a refrigerated truck
2-lifting kofta into a restaurant kitchen
3-carrying clean plates to the front of a restaurant

Photo and monotype collage on hanji paper, 2026

Giving the overlooked object the time to reveal itself as I let my gaze linger at the ferry dock, , Istanbul.

I prefer to search for images in the early morning and not immediately categorize or value what appears. Allowing the radiance of time and space to feed my boredom.

Participating in an artist residency in Istanbul

Each morning I meander through the city streets of the district documenting random sites, objects, people.

These images then inform the 'Scent of Time' collage series I am working on.

These two images were photographed down by the ferry dock where people are constantly feeding the seagulls bread, bagels. The striking red rose 🌹 was floating alone amidst the 'food waste'.
