Eric Romero doesn't just paint; he builds worlds. Using bold color and evocative metaphor, his oil paintings explore the crossroads of myth, philosophy, and culture. His work challenges the viewer to look beyond the surface and engage with the deep, often surreal, narratives of Nuevomexico existence.

Eric's work will be on display this Saturday, October 17th, until December 4th. We hope to see you in the gallery! 🎨

Today is the last day of Balloon Fiesta 2026! 🎈 ✨

Did you see this balloon? "Revolt Rising" — the stunning Heritage Hotel balloon featuring art by Cochiti Pueblo artist, Virgil Ortiz.

The balloon's imagery comes from Ortiz's "Revolt 1680/2180" series, reimagining the Pueblo Revolt of 1680 through a futuristic lens. Its central figure is Tahu, leader of the Blind Archers. Commissioned by Heritage Hotels founder Jim Long, the balloon turns Ortiz's art into a seven-story-tall sculpture in the sky.

Virgil is currently working on new work for Gallery Hózhó, so stay tuned!

Debbie Carrillo connects us to the deep roots of the Genízaro villagers of 18th and 19th-century Abiquiú. Her hand-coiled micaceous vessels are not just utilitarian; they are living history. Meet Marcus Xavier Chormicle! 📸

Chormicle uses photography to dissect heavy themes: grief, systemic violence, and the layered history of the Southwest. Through collages, land-based installations, and artist books, his work forces us to look at the landscapes and territories of the U.S. borderlands with a critical, emotional eye.

Last chance! Suzanne Sbarge's "Anomalies” is on view at Gallery Hózhó through this Tuesday, October 6. We’re excited that several pieces have sold. This week's ✨Hózhó Highlight✨ features "Light in the Desert" by Julia Lambright. Born in Russia, she moved to Albuquerque in her twenties, where the desert slowly taught her to see "not only with her eyes, but with her heart." Her work captures that journey from absence to connection.
