Did you know…. When I’m not playing with dead things and making art, I like to write? And sometimes I actually *share* that fact with folks? If you happen to be a poetry lover as well as a curiosity enthusiast, this post is for you! (And if you’re only here for the art, fret not; new work is coming just as soon as I clean up my workspace 😅) So:

Behold! April is National Poetry Month, and I’m part of this online show. It’s been a minute since I’ve done any kind of public reading… time to break some reclusive habits and share some spoken words 🙂

Golly gumdrops, it’s been a WEEK. Even without considering the news and/or politics. Gah. Suffice to say, I’ve been running behind on getting art things done, including those valentine designs I teased y’all with a while back.

BUT! My weird little valentines are done! They still need to be properly photographed and listed, and will go live on Thursday. (Possible sooner if life gets ahold of itself for a minute, but that’s one helluva gamble 😛) I realize that may be cutting it close for many folks, but you’re welcome to DM me if interested in a slightly-quicker direct sale ♥️

As you can see there are two drawing designs, offered on red or brown damask-printed paper. Cards will be listed individually and not in sets. Blank interior with plenty of space to write your unique love notes.

Rather excited to share this piece, which I made as a birthday gift for a friend ♥️ Maybe these aren’t the best photos, but eh. The need to hand it over precluded the urge towards pixilated perfectionism.

So! First time working around a harp shape, and my brain had some objections. Also my first time making “marble” out of polymer clay, which was definitely a learning experience. Also my first time making full fledged flowers from said clay. All in all, a lot of self-finagled firsts.

It was an absolute honor to present this bottle to the birthday girl, and to see her reaction. When you make a piece for someone and it absolutely clicks, it’s completely worth every FAFO kerfuffle and creative discomfort. I feel the urge to pop my collar and strut a little; I’m proud AF 😄

Yep, the world is on fire and I’m drawing valentines. Maybe it’s because I don’t want to forget what love there is out there, and how said love presents itself however best it can. Sometimes the heart connects in strange little drawings and inky fingertips, and channels a little bit of magic.

Or so one hopes ♥️

Anyhoo, please enjoy my mildly macabre coping mechanisms. Hoping to turn these into proper cards in time for That One February Holiday; stay tuned…

Teaser pics of some potential (weird) Valentine sketches… We’ll see what happens with these. Yes, as the artist I should have a vague plan… but, eh. Sometimes you just show up with pens and wander around.
