The New Mexico Shakespeare Festival returns this weekend as our Free Summer Repertory Season kicks into high gear! Thank you to the 1,000 audience members who have already joined us!

For years, New Mexico audiences have made Shakespeare in the Park a summer tradition, and we're thrilled to continue bringing free Shakespeare to Albuquerque with two unforgettable productions.

Thursday – Julius Caesar
Friday – The Winter’s Tale (Greenshow act - Albuquerque Morris Dancers)
Saturday - Julius Caesar (Greenshow act - Albuquerque Morris Dancers
Sunday – The Winter’s Tale (Greenshow act - Laura Di Mauro and Alicia Ultan)

Our opening weekend audiences experienced a Julius Caesar that one reviewer called a production featuring “a cast of talented actors,” praising the performances throughout and noting that “nearly every actor handles the language of the Bard well.” The review singled out Matt Andrade’s Brutus, Meghan Bode’s Portia, Vincent Marcus’s Cassius, and Owen Reid Callis’s Marc Antony, while calling Caesar’s assassination “staged well” and “shocking.”

From the political intrigue and betrayal of Julius Caesar to the romance, comedy, and wonder of The Winter’s Tale, there’s something for everyone this weekend.
Gather your family, friends, pack a blanket, a picnic, or a lawn chair, and get there early to experience Shakespeare under the stars!
"This evening under the stars is not to be missed."

We can’t wait to see you at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park; all shows start at 7:30 pm., green show acts start at 6:45

We regret to announce that tonight's performance of The Winter's Tale has been canceled due to weather conditions.

Current forecasts and radar indicate heavy thunderstorms continuing through the evening. Lightning is already striking within a mile of the park, and additional storms are expected later this evening. While we always do everything possible to keep our performances on schedule, the safety of our cast, crew, and audience must come first. We monitor weather conditions closely throughout the day and make these decisions only when it becomes clear that a safe and dry performance is not possible.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the New Mexico Shakespeare Festival. We look forward to welcoming you back next week at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park as our season continues:

• Thursday – Julius Caesar
• Friday – The Winter's Tale
• Saturday – Julius Caesar
• Sunday – The Winter's Tale

The Winter's Tale OPENS TOMORROW!!! Enjoy a night of Shakespeare under the stars with your friends and family. Bring a blanket. Bring a picnic. We’ll provide the entertainment

Join us for a fairy tale of childhood friends torn apart by jealousy, redemption, and the magic of time. One of Shakespeare's most beloved late romances, The Winter's Tale journeys from tragedy to wonder, exploring loss, forgiveness, and second chances. Filled with memorable characters, humor, music, and some of Shakespeare's most moving poetry, it is a story that reminds us that healing is possible—even after years of heartbreak.

Admission is FREE! Green show act by singer Bob Deaver starts at 6:45, the performance starts at 7:30. Join us on Friday for THE WINTER'S TALE, at the New Mexico Veterans Memorial Park, 1100 SE Louisiana Blvd.
