EXTRA, EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT!!! With the interruption of activity at the King Opera House to complete auditorium renovations set for Sept. 1, fundraising continues for the new seats that will be installed. That effort has been boosted by an anonymous donor who is pledging to match up to $10,000 for money donated to the seating fund until the end of the year. The King Opera House Board voted last spring to forge ahead with auditorium improvements after funding was secured for a large portion of the Phase II project which includes about 300 new seats, new ceiling under the balcony (completed), new wall fabric, new carpeting and fresh paint. If everything goes well, the work should be completed some time in mid to late October. The cost of a new theater chair is $500, but any level of donation can be used for the matching funds. "The Garage" focuses on just a few of the folks that spent many nights in the garage; many finding sobriety, love, acceptance, and most importantly, Jesus.
