The America 250 NC Stanly County committee is on the hunt for the best photos of the patriotic drone show earlier this month at City Lake Park. Check out the request and the requirements for submission in the post below.

What We’re Looking For:

•Crowd shots
•Anything that captures the spirit of the evening!

Prizes:
Winners will receive official America 250 merchandise! Winners will also receive their winning photo on a canvas!

We love seeing the Grassroots Grant program at work!

The Stanly County Arts Council receives a Grassroots Grant from the North Carolina Arts Council each year. Twenty percent (20%) of this grant goes to support the key operations of the SCAC, and the remaining 80% goes directly back into the community via sub-grants to support arts programs that are available and accessible to everyone.

We are still on a musical high from all the many ways Stanly County made music happen this past Sunday!

Thank you for everything the performers, workshop leaders, sponsors and participants did to make the 3rd annual MAKE MUSIC DAY a success. This event takes more than a village to pull off... it takes a county!

Special thanks goes to Arts Council Executive Director Renee VanHorn and all those volunteers who serve on the Make Music Day committee and helped plan the wide variety of locations and ways to participate.

From Norwood to Locust to Albemarle, from organ concerts to harmonicas, and student bands to a Sousapaloozaa, Stanly County did a great job making music along with celebrating Dads and the America 250th!
