Meet our next headlining artist: Sobolik, a Brooklyn-based producer, DJ, promoter, and label curator; pushing the boundaries of contemporary underground electronic music.

With a deeply technical approach to production and an intuitive ear for sound design, they build rhythmic, ethereal soundscapes that move fluidly across genres while maintaining a distinct sonic identity. Their sets and productions balance experimental detail with undeniable dancefloor energy, creating moments that feel hypnotic, futuristic yet oddly nostalgic all at once, and impossible not to move to.

Describing themselves as a “digital forager,” Sobolik digs through curious textures, fragmented samples, and unconventional sounds, reshaping them into bouncy, percussive, and otherworldly club tracks. Their work continues to carve out a distinct space within contemporary underground electronic music.

Ahead of June 27th, we highly recommend diving into Final Drive, Sobolik’s latest release with George-i. Built on rumbling basslines, driving rhythms, intricate sound design, and relentless dancefloor momentum, the release serves as the perfect introduction to their sound. Each track balances meticulous production with raw energy, delivering mesmerizing grooves and heavyweight low-end pressure designed to be experienced on a proper sound system.
Whether you’re joining us on the dancefloor or listening from afar, take some time to stream Final Drive, support the artists, and prepare for the immersive, high-energy journey Sobolik will be bringing to the night.
Stream Final Drive on your favorite platform, support the artists, and get ready to lose yourself to the hypnotic bass they’ll be bringing on June 27th to Mt.Ida Preservation Hall!

Join us next week for the third installment of our film screening series. On Thursday, March 19, at Alias Coffee in Albany, we'll explore the early roots of electronic music and the groundbreaking women that shaped it.

“Sisters with Transistors” is the remarkable story of electronic music's female pioneers, composers who embraced machines and their liberating technologies to utterly transform how we produce and listen to music today. The widely celebrated film maps the history of electronic music through the visionary women whose radical experimentations with machines redefined the boundaries of music, including Clara Rockmore, Daphne Oram, Bebe Barron, Pauline Oliveros, Delia Derbyshire, Maryanne Amacher, Eliane Radigue, Suzanne Ciani, and Laurie Spiegel.

This community-centered night begins at 6:30 pm and features music selections from the OHM DJs before and after the screening, open discussion, and conversation about the past, present, and future of electronic music and the OHM project.

Popcorn will be available  for purchase, and Alias Coffee will be open throughout the evening for drinks and light refreshments.

We look forward to watching, listening, and celebrating the culture together.

In two weeks we welcome you back for the second installment of our documentary screening series. On Wednesday, February 18, at Alias Coffee in Albany, we'll explore the roots of Drum and Bass and its rapid evolution from the mid '90s to 2016 with a screening of Drum and Bass: The Movement.

The film traces how a UK underground club culture grew into a global force, shaping pop music, video games, and beyond; and why DnB has always been more than a genre. It was a lifestyle, with its own fashion, language, and attitude, deeply rooted in multiculturalism and shared club experiences.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the screening of High Tech Soul: The Creation of Techno Music at Alias Coffee in Albany last week. The packed room was filled with a palpable sense of community, and much of the movie’s discussion about drivers for creative change and its long-lasting impact seemed to resonate deeply with many in the audience.

OHM is dedicated to advancing electronic art and music culture in the NY Capital Region. OHM was founded to address a clear and growing gap in Albany, and the greater Capital Region: the lack of viable, accessible, inclusive, and artist-driven spaces for music, arts, and community gathering, particularly within the electronic music and digital arts ecosystem. We are committed to providing a cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary venue that acts as a creative hub and community space for residents and visitors.

You can support OHM’s mission through a donation to our GoFundMe https://gofund.me/44579d126

We are looking forward to gathering with you again soon. Be on the lookout for more info about the next installation of our movie series next month.
