Jack and Jill is a nationwide organization with over 220 chapters in 35 states and the District of Columbia, representing over 30,000 family members. Edna Seay of Buffalo, New York who was then the National President of Jack and Jill of America, Inc , on September 23,1950 in Albany, Georgia.

The Jack and Jill of America Foundation joins people around the world in mourning the passing and celebrating the extraordinary life and legacy of Dolly Parton. 🕊️

Beloved for her music, storytelling, and unmistakable spirit, Dolly’s impact extended far beyond the stage. Her lifelong commitment to philanthropy, education, and early childhood literacy created opportunities for millions of children and families.

Through the Dollywood Foundation and Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, Dolly transformed her belief in the power of books into a movement that has helped children build home libraries and discover the joy of reading from an early age. By delivering free, high-quality books directly to children’s homes, the Imagination Library has helped make literacy resources more accessible to families and encouraged parents and caregivers to make reading a part of everyday life.

Her commitment to literacy holds special meaning for the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. Through our Reading Corner Grant Program, several of our grantees have supported community literacy initiatives connected to Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. These programs have helped expand access to books, build home libraries, encourage family reading, and create more opportunities for young children to develop the literacy skills that can shape their futures.

Dolly understood that giving a child a book is about so much more than reading. It is about giving them the opportunity to imagine, learn, dream, and discover a world of possibilities.

We are grateful for the extraordinary legacy she leaves behind and for the ripple effect of her generosity in communities across the country, including those touched through the work of our grantees.

Her voice inspired generations. Her generosity changed lives. And her commitment to young readers will continue opening new worlds for children for generations to come.

On August 1, 2026, the Amazing Albany Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. Executive Board gathered at Merry Acres Manor House for its annual retreat, setting the course for an impactful 2026–2027 programming year.

Guided by the theme, “Charting Our Course: Leading with Purpose, Moving with Power – The Power of Us,” the retreat provided an opportunity for our leadership to pause, align, envision, and prepare with intention. Through meaningful reflection and collaborative planning, the Executive Board focused on strengthening leadership, clarifying priorities, and building collective momentum toward the chapter’s goals and vision.

A navigation tool served as a powerful symbol throughout the retreat—reminding us that meaningful progress requires a clear course, intentional direction, collaboration, and a shared commitment to the destination.

As we embark on a new programming year, we are reminded that the power of our chapter lies in the power of us—working together, leading with purpose, and moving forward with impact.

The Albany Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. proudly celebrates Mom Charlice J. Dukes on receiving the Financial Secretary of the Year Award for the Sweet, Sweet Southeastern Region!

This prestigious honor was presented by Regional Treasurer Shannon Chambers during the 47th National Convention of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. in Baltimore, Maryland, recognizing Mom Charlice's exceptional dedication, faithful service, and outstanding stewardship.

We are incredibly proud to celebrate this well-deserved recognition and the excellence she continues to exemplify in service to our organization.

Please join us in congratulating Teen Caleb Madison on being named the Outstanding Male Athlete – Division I at the 70th Annual Southeastern Region Teen Conference!

This prestigious honor recognizes more than athletic excellence—it celebrates a student who exemplifies outstanding achievement in athletics, academics, and community service.

Caleb's accomplishments in the classroom are just as impressive as those on the field. During his freshman year, he earned the Highest Average in Algebra: Concepts and Connections and achieved Level 4 – Distinguished scores on his GMAS End-of-Course Assessments, including:

🏆 CHAMPIONS! 🏀💙

Congratulations to our Amazing Albany Chapter Teen Boys Basketball Team for bringing home the Basketball Tournament Championship at the 70th Annual Southeastern Region Teen Conference!

Our team displayed incredible determination, teamwork, and resilience, battling through four hard-fought games before earning the victory in the championship game. Their dedication, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit were on full display as they proudly represented our chapter on the regional stage.

We are incredibly proud of these young men for their outstanding accomplishment and for showing what can be achieved through perseverance, discipline, and teamwork. Congratulations, Champions! Your Albany Chapter family is celebrating with you! 🏀🥇🎉
