Always a great browsing experience The Vintage Roundup. Picked up an awesome Woolrich shirt from Jess Winterhalt Wanner 🙌

The pinehillsfarmersmarket on the Saint Rose campus courtyard is a wonderful new addition to the weekly calendar. It’s a rare midweek, evening farmers market. Thursdays, 5-8 pm, through October.

We walked away with a decadent s’mores cookie from KukiCookies. Omg—delicious!

Also delighted to see Avery Stempel from Collar City Mushrooms there. If you can’t get to them at the Troy Waterfront Farmers Market, here’s another chance to pick up some beautiful 🍄‍🟫🍄‍🟫

Be sure to support all of the vendors at the new market!

The 518 Dinner Club met last night in downtown Troy and it was so lovely meeting our community IRL.

Here’s what one diner, Jessica Wakefield, had to say: “we had the best time! I actually left hungry because I was having too much fun talking to focus on my food! 😂 There’s always SUCH lovely, kind people at The 518 events.”

Thanks again to our sponsors EMRY’s Garden The Berlin.

Our next dinner will be Sept. 24th in Albany’s Center Square/Lark Street. Sign up now at https://the-518.dnnr.io. Or hit the link in our IG bio!

Next Saturday, August 15th! Join Wild Ones Capital Region for a garden tour featuring two beautiful residential gardens in Guilderland and Schenectady. This is one of the two gardens you’ll have the opportunity to explore!

🌿 GARDEN TOUR: Growing Shade & Wildlife Habitat in the City 🐝🌳

📅 Saturday, August 15, 2026
🕙 10AM – 2PM
📍 Schenectady, NY
🌱 Members Only + 1 Guest

Over the past few years, Jenna & Sam have been transforming their quarter-acre lot into a thriving native plant haven, adding hundreds of native plants while making room for trees, wildlife, and—eventually—a whole lot more shade. 🌳

Inspired in part by Garden in the Woods in Framingham, MA, Doug Tallamy & Rick Darke’s The Living Landscape, and the desire to create a cooler, more livable summer space for both people and wildlife, their garden is evolving into a beautiful wildlife sanctuary.

And there’s a great story behind all those trees… 🌳

After removing hundreds of feet of towering privet and burning bush, Jenna & Sam found themselves missing the tall, lush privacy screen they once had. Their solution? Plant native trees and let nature take over.

Come see how a small garden can become a shady sanctuary for birds, pollinators, people—and plenty of native plants along the way. 🐦🦋🌿

Dropped into Trixie’s Diner in Albany, the new eatery that’s taken over our beloved Dan’s Place II (aka Dirty Dan’s), which closed after nearly 50 years.

The lunch car looks fresher now with a new coat of paint, updated stools, and a good cleaning. The names on the menu have changed, but it’s still your standard diner fare. We had a tasty breakfast of eggs, sausage & blueberry pancakes. And the ladies—sisters Casey and Kate—are so lovely!

Long live Dirty Dan’s but Trixie’s (named after the girls’ mother) is winning us over.
