Over the past few years, Jenna & Sam have been transforming their quarter-acre lot into a thriving native plant haven, adding hundreds of native plants while making room for trees, wildlife, and—eventually—a whole lot more shade. 🌳
Inspired in part by Garden in the Woods in Framingham, MA, Doug Tallamy & Rick Darke’s The Living Landscape, and the desire to create a cooler, more livable summer space for both people and wildlife, their garden is evolving into a beautiful wildlife sanctuary.
And there’s a great story behind all those trees… 🌳
After removing hundreds of feet of towering privet and burning bush, Jenna & Sam found themselves missing the tall, lush privacy screen they once had. Their solution? Plant native trees and let nature take over.
Come see how a small garden can become a shady sanctuary for birds, pollinators, people—and plenty of native plants along the way. 🐦🦋🌿
