Nakama, it has been awhile-
First off, we hope all of you have been safe, warm, and well during these times including all those you may know and hold dear. This year certainly has been something for all our lifetime's and those still yet to come, indubitably. With that being said, we would like in addressing a few things with you all regarding this past year and the current state and future of The Yokai Market moving forward.
As all of you know, we had two events planned this year (our official Spring and Fall Markets) that we not only had planned and certainly hoped would set a new era not just for us, but for all events of this passion and community. In all the years this Market has been able in hosting events, our first "Albany Nights" will always be one of our most favorite, truly. Since then, we have trialed through the adversities of multiple obstacles that while we have faced each and every one with being as transparent as possible still with not only ourselves, but, with you- our community. This past chapter and coming into the year of 2025 was certainly one of our most challenging and also all the more humbling chapters as we were not able in meeting our own expectations for a multitude of reasons. Both on us as an event and also not on us and truly at one point, no matter how hard we tried, was inevitably outside our own power or control.
From a plethora of venues just not lining up with our dates we had planned. Others saying they could accommodate us and then when being finalized, it was just one thing after another. Security deposits being made but with no guarantee of being locked in for said dates or venues. These things not being honored or up to our hard working standards that we not only set for ourselves, but rather, in also guaranteeing this has been the market unlike any other that you all have come in knowing.
Something we mention with pride, but also with a humbled reminder as well. The Yokai Market, has always since the very beginning been solely ran and handled by just two people, and only those two. Yes, we have had help and support, but, certainly not the kind you would expect to go into an event like ours or most that require a fully staffed team. Especially when handling all the things that were required in making these events run the way they have. This is where we hope that if anyone has ever thought otherwise or expected anything we didn't already task ourselves with in hopes of making a reality, this helps or makes things more digestible in understanding how much time, effort, and hardwork it took from two individuals and those involved when they could give their time. This wouldn't have been possible without you few, you know who you are, we will always have a place for you amongst our Night Parade.
That being said, after the countless attempts and efforts that were made into making this year really special for everyone, we truly felt like it was not being appreciated or taken as serious from anyone outside our community. Along with those who we were still trying and in hopes of gathering support from since our first debut amongst the PNW.
Our time, resources, and even health were and have also taken a turn this year as many of you have probably encountered as well and or if not, either way- we certainly wish and are rooting for you as well as much as anyone we have ever had the pleasure in calling our Nakama, you and yours included.
During said silence and since stepping back, again, adversity is always second standing in company. However, it has given us clarity, and the words we have been wanting to deliver for so long, truly.
We unfortunately are still short on the exact answer and reassurance you were more than likely looking for, for that, we are understanding and only ask for that in return as well. We are still regrouping, processing, and waiting for the right time in carrying forward said announcements and the plans we have not only had, but still would like in making still come true and in reality for many more events in store.
If we are in giving of any answer(s) that could or would be of help- is this post and message our goodbye, are we just stopping the TYM altogether, will we just pack things up or disappear without a word? (Like a few of you thought and, man, did that show in the numbers. It's okay and was expected, sadly.)
Certainly not. Our Nakama, just who in the hell do you think we are?! (For the day 1's, if you know, you know). All of this being so and stated, what's next? Well, a lot of things are going too change and be restructured. How or in what ways? As the world is changing, so must we, it's as simple as that and the best we can do in explaining. A venue that is able in catering the various things we as an event need is and will be the biggest step and also door in moving forward with any updates and what will be a more solid ground work moving forward.
If all goes well with this new chapter, we are making this announcement now in the hopes that by Fall/Halloween season of 2026 that The Yokai Market is back and truly becoming the Night Parade event it has always been striving in becoming and knowing it could be that the Western culture, let alone PNW has only dreamed of and truly been missing out on.
This has been a long road, and it's only going to get further from here. However, along the way, we have had each and every one of you. So, tell us, with all this being said- My Nakama, do you have what it takes in continuing this adventure here and now with us. Allowing us in honoring what it took, has taken, and will always be in what makes this a market unlike any other? Not just for us here and now, but, for those of yesterday. How about the one's who have yet to know how much they can even become and grow into tomorrow. When the time is right and the Torii gates have opened again, we hope you'll be there amongst our Night Parade.
Once more, we can only hope and truly ask for the continued grace and understanding we have been blessed with and recieved from so many of you since our CA and PNW chapters. Be safe and well with the remainder of the season as it is one of our favorites, for obvious reasons and into the holidays. Also, lastly, and most important- Don't believe in the me that believes in you, don't believe in the you that believes me. Believe in the you, that believes in yourself... and pierce those heavens.
With love, always. See you...

Of all the days, we figured in STILL honoring today as a day that was and will hopefully ALWAYS be a better date for future times and what we have planned for so many who truly appreciate, honor, and respect the creative, mysterious, and passionate adventures that still await here at the one, the only, The Yokai Market.
For today though, the veil is thin and we certainly are missing it and you all already, so- be safe, stay warm, and even in a world full of uncertainty, you can always be certain- we are with you, our Night Parade, see you...
