Alive at Five Alive at Five has kept downtown Albany's spirits high after work on Thursdays throughout the summer for more than 20 years.

The stage comes alive with music from national, regional and local artists; each night plays host to a different genre of music! Celebrating 26 years of music, Albany’s signature free concert series premiered in the summer of 1990 with a performance by legendary folk artist Richie Havens, and has since grown into a staple of summer in the Capital Region. Showcasing a diverse lineup of big names, u

p-and-coming acts and the region’s most talented original artists, Alive at Five offers eight weeks of free, critically-acclaimed performances catering to nearly every taste. Local vendors and a spectacular Hudson River setting complete the scene of"The Capital Region's Best Concert Series" (Metroland). Parking is available at Riverfront Garage, the official parking location for Alive at Five, with a connection to the pedestrian bridge to Jennings Landing at the Corning Preserve. There is a $5 flat rate for Riverfront Garage parking on Alive at Five nights. Handicap parking with easy access to Alive at Five is available at this location. FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!
"ELECTRIC CITY LIGHT" Launches July 7th
-BREWED IN SCHENECTADY
-PRICE FIXED AT $3 PER DRAFT
-ONE OF A KIND DRAFT HANDLE CREATED
-NINE SCHENECTADY BARS TO FEATURE
-INITIAL & SECOND BREWINGS SOLD OUT
BREWED IN SCHENECTADY – The domestic light beer is being contract brewed at the direction of Broken Inn/Horses Lounge/Parlor at Muni owner Tommy Nicchi in Schenectady’s Stockade neighborhood at Seven Points Brewery by head brewer Brian Conley.

PRICE FIXED AT $3 PER DRAFT – Nicchi believes that draft beer simply costs too much to the consumer. Per Nicchi “If minimum wage is $15, it shouldn’t cost you half an hours work to pay for a beer”. Nicchi is selling Electric City Light to local establishments at his cost, making no money on the product, but he is only selling it to bars and restaurants who commit to the $3 price point. Any establishment unwilling to fix the price at $3 was not able to purchase the beer.

ONE OF A KIND DRAFT HANDLE CREATED – Nicchi envisioned a draft handle that would incorporate a lightbulb that actually lights up when the handle is pulled (a tribute to the Electric City). After a Nationwide search he teamed up with Purple Shark Designs in Marysville Ohio who spent weeks on research and trial and error but who ultimately were able to create the one of a kind handle

NINE SCHENCTADY BARS TO FEATURE – In addition to Nicchi’s establishments (The Broken Inn, The Horses Lounge and The Parlor at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course) Electric City Light will be offered at the following Schenectady establishments beginning July 7th: 20 North Broadway Tavern, Hunter’s on Jay, Backstage Pub, Jay Street Pub, Manhattan Exchange, BL’s Tavern.

INITIAL & SECOND BREWINGS SOLD OUT – The initial brewing by Seven Points Brewery yielded 15 - 50 liter kegs that have already been sold and distributed. The second brewing which will yield an additional 30 kegs and which will be ready by July 17th has also sold out in advance. Nicchi’s initial test of the product to patrons at The Parlor at Schenectady Municipal Golf Course resulted in two 50 liter kegs being sold in just 2 days.
