New painting!

Inside and Outside the Ferry Building

When I worked in SF, the Ferry Building was a favorite destination for lunch or just for a walk. Nowadays I visit whenever I'm near. The ceiling is dazzlingly lovely and bright, and the whole building's sense of openness and space is inspiring.

The poster at the bottom right is a tribute to a favorite sculpture outside the Ferry Building around 15 years ago, a Jetsons-style rocket ship. The poster for the sculpture read, "Bring a Rocket Stop to San Francisco."

Gallery What a beautiful space, and what a cool array of viewpoints of California.

The show is open through Sept. 13, in downtown Walnut Creek.

New painting! Saturn Steps. Click it open to see the whole thing.

The Saturn Steps are a short walk from the Castro, including the beautiful historic Castro Theatre. The steps’ hilly neighborhood offers views of Sutro Tower, and is home to a flock of wild parrots.

This was a commission for . Joshua and his partner planted most of the fantastic succulent garden that surrounds the steps, and have been nurturing it for years.
