The Flickinger Center Guild

The Flickinger Center Guild The Flickinger Center Guild was founded in 1990 by Flori MacElderry and Cheryl Leach. Currently there are about 80 active members.

The Flickinger Center hosts a Premier Series of professional stage productions as well as many locally produced theater and dance performances of exceptional entertainment. Through the generosity of the community, the Flickinger is able to bus local school children for special matinee performances throughout the year to expose the children to the world of stage and theater. It is a dynamic organiz

ation made up of diverse men and women who love and support the Flickinger Center for Performing Arts. The Guild helps support the Flickinger Center events by distributing flyers and marketing materials throughout the community. They provide refreshments in the dressing rooms for the Premier Show performers and guests. The members host our children’s program performances on a regular basis. Guild members work in crucial areas during theater events; in the box office selling tickets, collecting tickets at the door and greeting patrons, distributing programs, ushering patrons to their seats, and running concession sales. Some of the guild members perform various office tasks as needed. The Silver & Turquoise Tea has been the Flickinger Guild’s annual fund raiser, and 2013 is the 12th year. These have been very successful and the money raised in the past has been used to furnish many needed items in the theater. Examples are: lighting in the auditorium and on stage, wooden frames and lighting in the lobby, and the concession stand’s beautiful counter top, replacement of a major portion of the tattered stage curtains, the Marley dance floor…and so much more. It is estimated that over the years volunteers have given over 100,000 hours to sustain the theater. Some of our top Guild volunteers over the past 25 years are Rae Keeny with 3,532 hours, LaVerle Hoover, 2,273, CJ Rogers, 1,713, Jane Belk, 1,039, Rowena Laabs, 1,008 and Lynn Marrow with 700 hours. Without the amazing number of volunteers the Flickinger would not be able to boast the success story of 25 years of continuous service to the community. Flickinger Guild meetings are held at the theater on the third Wednesday of each month over the noon hour. New or prospective members are always welcomed to come to these meetings. If you are unable to attend noon meetings due to a work schedule, we encourage you to become a Flickinger volunteer. For more information contact the Guild President Lee Selden at 437-5192, or call Swan at the Flickinger Center office at 437-2202 to sign up to volunteer.

Team Flickinger,

Tomorrow is our Guild meeting at noon in Patron's Hall. I am looking forward to hearing a report from our Executive Director, Lorrie Black; our Program Director, Michael Gutierrez; and Administrative Assistant, Valerie Adams.

I will be doing a review of Theatre Protocol. We all need reminders, especially now.

See you there.

Team Flickinger,

I want to let you know that Countrified will be playing Friday evening in Patron's Hall. We are still under the mask mandate, so please come wearing your masks regardless of your vaccination status. This will be from 6:30 until 8:30. Come enjoy snacks in Patron's Hall, coffee and the great ice cream treats.

Then on Saturday evening will be the next street concert with Calista and her band in the street in front of the Flickinger. The street will be closed off and tables set up with the gates opening at 7 and the music beginning at 8 pm. It is just a $7 cover charge. The Spirit Club will be available with a little lounge set up in the lobby of the Theatre. It is always an incredible evening.

So come enjoy music at the Flick this weekend.
